Today’s Reading:
Philippians 4
Song of Songs 2
“Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.”
Philippians 4:8 TPT
The Spirit of the Living God says,
Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. What is in your heart will come out. Fill yourself with all that is beautiful, lovely, praiseworthy and good. Your heart is a garden that requires cultivation. Pluck the weeds. Drive out the pests that are eating up the good things in your heart.
“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 4:6-7 TPT
Your heart is the plot of land in your life that requires continual tending. Be diligent over what is allowed in. Be diligent and disciplined about what gets thrown out and destroyed. Your heart is the wellspring of your life. From it flows rivers of living water — if you keep it in good health, if you keep it in purity and grounded in truth, if you keep its contents only honorable, beautiful, lovely and praiseworthy.
“Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There is change in the air.” Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me. For you are my dove, hidden in the split-open rock. It was I who took you and hid you up high in the secret stairway of the sky. Let me see your radiant face and hear your sweet voice. How beautiful your eyes of worship and lovely your voice in prayer. You must catch the troubling foxes, those sly little foxes that hinder our relationship. For they raid our budding vineyard of love to ruin what I’ve planted within you. Will you catch them and remove them for me? We will do it together.”
Song of Songs 2:13-15 TPT
Flush out all that is not serving you. Dig out those bitter weeds all the way down to their bitter root system. Dig the whole thing out, and put it on the trash pile to burn. Your heart is the plot of land in which you feel freedom or constraint, lightness or burden. This is the place from which the reality of your life flows. It is born here, in your heart. Take care of your heart. Tend to the issues and the matters that are causing darkness, hurt and pain. Pull them out, and put them on the altar for Me to handle. Let your heart be a pure source from which love and joy, hope and faith flow freely. The unanswered questions, the prayers that you have not seen manifest — lay them on the altar in honesty. Lay them on the altar with a heart of worship and trust. I will come through for you. Know it. I will come through for you. Flush out doubt with worship. Flush out fear and anxiety with thanksgiving, honor and praise. This is your reasonable service of worship to Me.
“I am convinced that my God will fully satisfy every need you have, for I have seen the abundant riches of glory revealed to me through Jesus Christ! And God our Father will receive all the glory and the honor throughout the eternity of eternities! Amen!”
Philippians 4:19-20 TPT
Keep your heart pure. Protect it and ensure that it is a place in which you cultivate only what is beautiful, lovely, true and praiseworthy. Trust in Me. Count on Me. Release all that you hold onto so tightly to Me. I will take care of it with all tenderness. I Am your Father who loves you. Leave it to Me. Trust in Me.
How to Respond
- Love the Lord with all your mind, heart, soul and strength. Trust in Him with total abandon.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Search me and know me. Test my anxious thoughts and lead me in the way everlasting. Lord, help me to be a diligent gardener of my own heart. Help me to plant and cultivate lovely, beautiful, truthful, honorable and praiseworthy things. And help me to weed out and rid myself of all bitter roots, all vermin and pests that eat away at the good things You have sown and those that we have sown together.
- Declare, the Lord is the source of every good and perfect gift. He is the Father of Heavenly lights. He sees me. He hears me. He knows me inside and out. He loves me unconditionally. He is unfailing, and He will come through for me. He always has, and He always will.
- Decree, I will trust the Lord with all of my mind, heart, soul and strength. I will rejoice in the Lord always. I will dwell on that which is lovely, pure, beautiful, true and praiseworthy. And I will be diligent and disciplined to remove every bitter root and every wandering pest that is not serving to beautify the garden of my heart. I will worship the Lord and leave every hurt, concern and all of my pain at the altar in His loving hands. I know He will come through for me. He’s the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Nothing is impossible for Him.
