Today’s Reading:
Hebrews 4
Now the promise of entering into God’s rest is still for us today. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it. For we have heard the good news of deliverance just as they did, yet they didn’t join their faith with the Word. Instead, what they heard didn’t affect them deeply, for they doubted. For those of us who believe, faith activates the promise and we experience the realm of confident rest! For he has said, “I was grieved with them and made a solemn oath, ‘They will not enter into my rest.’ ” God’s works have all been completed from the foundation of the world, for it says in the Scriptures, And on the seventh day God rested from all his works. And again, as stated before, They will not enter into my rest. Those who first heard the good news of deliverance failed to enter into that realm of faith’s rest because of their unbelieving hearts. Yet the fact remains that we still have the opportunity to enter into the faith-rest life and experience the fulfillment of the promise!
Hebrews 4:1-6 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God of Truth and Faithfulness say,
I desire to see truth and trust in Me in the deepest parts of you. Those parts that are farthest from sight and closest to the core of you are the places where I want the frequencies for truth and trust in Me, unwavering, unapologetic trust in Me to resound. These are the elements, the characteristics that are the signature of heirs of the King. Truth and trust in Me must become part of your DNA. They must be entwined in every aspect of who you are and how you see the world. This is My up-higher perspective.
So then we must be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief. For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts. There is not one person who can hide their thoughts from God, for nothing that we do remains a secret, and nothing created is concealed, but everything is exposed and defenseless before his eyes, to whom we must render an account.
Hebrews 4:11-13 TPT
Truth and trust in Me should be woven into every fiber of your being. They are available, and they are your birthright. But these only come with the impartation of faith. And faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Only time in the Word, the Truth, will weave truth into your soul, spirit and body. These are highly permeable to truth, but you must instill it. You must allow the Word to be woven into your heart and penetrate to the deepest parts of you. This is what fashions you for warfare. This is what steels and reinforces your being in the face of uncertainty and even great threats. My Word and your track record with Me, your personal record of My faithfulness that no one can take away or muddy in your mind. Steel these things in your heart, mind, body and soul. Get My Word in you, and recount My faithfulness as a daily practice. This is fashioning you and honing you for greater warfare.
So then, we must cling in faith to all we know to be true. For we have a magnificent King-Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose into the heavenly realm for us, and now sympathizes with us in our frailty. He understands humanity, for as a man, our magnificent King-Priest was tempted in every way just as we are, and conquered sin. So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.
Hebrews 4:14-16 TPT
The weapons of your warfare are not carnal, but mighty for the taking down of strongholds. Truth is a mighty weapon. Testimony is mighty weapon. Worship is a mighty weapon. The joy of the Lord is a mighty empowering weapon. This is irregular warfare, and your tools are irregular to the world. Your tools may look foolish to the world, but I use the foolish things to confound the wise. Watch as these weapons break down barriers, tear down strongholds and free nations. Equip yourself. Steel yourself. The foundation for this is unadulterated truth and unwavering trust in Me.
How to Respond
- Get into the Word of God, and read it aloud daily.
- Pray, thank You Lord that Your ways are higher than my ways and Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts. Thank You for Your great faithfulness and for providing the equipping and empowering I need to war fiercely against darkness in this dark time. Help me to be faithful in the small and big things that You are calling me to do.
- Declare, we shall overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
- Declare, where the Spirit of the Lord — who is Truth — reigns, there is liberty.
- Decree, I will be in the Word of God. I will speak it, and my speaking of the Truth will instill faith in my being that equips me as a mighty warrior. I will recount the faithfulness of the Lord in my life as a daily practice, and share testimonies of the Lord’s goodness to me. I will fight in this spiritual war, well-equipped to take down the strongholds of the enemy. I will be part of freeing nations and becoming an occupying force of the Kingdom of God.
