Today’s Readings:
Isaiah 30
Isaiah 32
Psalm 63
16 Then justice will dwell in the wilderness
Isaiah 32:16-18
And righteousness will abide in the fertile field.
17 And the work of righteousness will be peace,
And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.
18 Then my people will live in a peaceful habitation,
And in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places;
The Lord says,
Picture a field of little white flowers surrounding you like when you were was a child. Recall your innocence and pure delight, the smell of fresh air and green grass, the warmth of the sun on your skin. You will experience a return to days like those — carefree days and innocence, a return to purity, freedom, creativity and wonder, a return to healthy attention spans and delight in nature. It’s like I’m turning back the clock, because the return to simple pleasures, simple joys, simple delights will be so great.
9 But those who seek my life to destroy it,
Psalm 63:9-11
Will go into the depths of the earth.
10 They will be delivered over to the power of the sword;
They will be a prey for foxes.
11 But the king will rejoice in God;
Everyone who swears by Him will glory,
For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.
The weight and the heaviness of the constant barrage of information, news, updates, and all of these voices vying for your attention will shrink before your eyes into a small little manageable group that you can access when you choose. It is shrinking from its ever present monster-sized, multi-alarm stature to something quiet and still — a selection of manageable resources that could fit in something smaller than a shoebox. The loud voices of chaos and distraction will be no more. Only orderly voices of truth and helpful information will be there quietly waiting for you to access them at your leisure, never shouting for your attention. Life will be so light that you can easily go days at a time without accessing this little set of respectful information resources. They wait there for you quietly and ready to serve.
15 For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved,
Isaiah 30:15a
In quietness and trust is your strength.”
Be holy as I Am holy. Choose to live the life of innocence and freedom now and let the changes I bring to the world around you catch up when they will. Pursue holiness. Pursue purity. Pursue simplicity and truth, and watch how the weights and the competing shrieking voices fall away. You can shut them up and silence them. You are a child of grace. Don’t put yourself under the shrieking sounds of the ruling class. Separate yourself from them. You can check in, but don’t inundate your senses with all of their nonsense. You can be aware and then turn it off. Don’t get sucked in to the 24/7 “news” cycle of chaos, immorality, confusion and lies.
21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.
Isaiah 30:21
Seek Me. Pursue peace. Allow your discernment and Holy Spirit to guide you to truth. You may have to wait a little while for the world to catch up to the reality of truth. But you can live there in peace until they do. Choose childlike faith. Choose wonder. Choose to disconnect from the swirl and the machinery of lying information. Return to that place of wonder and freedom. The world will catch up to you and many more delighted ones will meet you there.
How to Respond
- Live with your eyes on the Lord.
- Seek the Lord for wisdom and discernment in what this going on in the world around you.
- Ask the Lord to show you what your place is in the fight for truth and freedom. Pursue that and don’t get distracted by the rest of the battle.
- Turn off the lying voices that bring anxiety and chaos into your life. Don’t give them access to you or your home.
- Declare, the Lord is moving to return us to a place of purity, innocence and truth. I am choosing to start living that way now.
- Decree, the days are coming when the screeching liars will be silenced, and the world will live in peace and childlike wonder — removed from bombarding messages of chaos and fear. The Lord will see to their removal. The victory belongs to Him.
