Today’s Readings:
Psalm 18
Isaiah 40

26 Lift up your eyes to the sky and see for yourself.
Who do you think created the cosmos?
He lit every shining star and formed every glowing galaxy,
and stationed them all where they belong.
He has numbered, counted, and given everyone a name.
They shine because of God’s incredible power
and awesome might; not one fails to appear!
27 Why, then, O Jacob’s tribes, would you ever complain?
And my chosen Israel, why would you say,
“Yahweh isn’t paying attention to my situation.
He has lost all interest in what happens to me.”
28 Don’t you know? Haven’t you been listening?
Yahweh is the one and only everlasting God,
the Creator of all you can see and imagine!
He never gets weary or worn out.
His intelligence is unlimited;
he is never puzzled over what to do!
29 He empowers the feeble
and infuses the powerless with increasing strength.
30 Even young people faint and get exhausted;
athletic ones may stumble and fall.
31 But those who wait for Yahweh’s grace
will experience divine strength.
They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles,
run their race without growing weary,
and walk through life without giving up.

Isaiah 40:26-31

The Lord says,
I Am holy. I Am the Lord, and I Am One. There is no other god beside me. Dwell in the place of My holiness. Ask for the reverential fear of the Lord. That awe comes by a revelation and a glimpse of My holiness. A revelation of my holiness changes everything. A small bit of understanding My holiness puts everything in your world in the rightful place. I Am holy. I Am One. I Am to be first because there is no other place for Me.

Children are very close to My heart. Children can understand and operate in My Kingdom with ease, because of their pure hearts and their faith. It is beautiful, innocent and worthy. It is a model for how your own life should be postured, with great wide hope, full of faith and with a gentleness of spirit. Let the little children come to Me. Don’t do anything to hinder a child from coming to Me, from being in My Presence.

31 Could there be any other god like Yahweh?
For there is not a more secure foundation than you.

Psalm 18:31

They should grow up knowing Me, understanding their ability and right to access Me. They should grow up in a pure and safe environment. Keep filthy behavior and language far from children. Do all that is in your power to protect their innocence. Cultivate their curiosity, faith, imagination and endless view of possibilities. These are all good practices for yourself as well.

23 I’ve been blameless before him and followed all his ways,
keeping my heart pure.
24 And so Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
because I kept my heart clean before his eyes.

Psalm 18:23-24

Live unpolluted in an awareness of My holiness. Rest in the knowledge of My goodness, My faithfulness, My trustworthiness; and release the outcomes to Me. Yes, work. Do the work I put in your hands to do. But rest with great assurance that I Am the One who brings the increase. You are planting the seeds. I Am causing them to grow. I Am the Lord of the harvest.

Live from the overflow of your heart. Joy and thanksgiving should be spilling forth, regardless of circumstances and trials. You have to cultivate those through time with Me, through practice. And I will cause them to bubble forth from your life in a way that may seem contrary to the reality you see with your eyes.

29 For by You I can run at a troop of warriors;
And by my God I can leap over a wall.

Psalm 18:29

Joy and thanksgiving are great sustainers. They carry energy and motivation for you, and they are catalysts for forward motion. These are like essential vitamins in your spiritual life. Without these, you will be malnourished, run down and fatigued. With these, you can storm a troop and leap over a wall.

Ask for More joy. Ask for access to the deep wells of My joy. Record the things in your life that you are grateful for. Make a practice of it, whether written, out loud or both. Thanksgiving is a discipline and a lifestyle; and joy is a renewable resource that can be found in My Presence. These will propel you forward into the next thing, into the new day, into even just the next task and the next moment.

How to Respond

  • Ask for the reverential fear of the Lord. See how a glimpse of His holiness will reorder your life and right the ship of your priorities.
  • Sing songs of praise and read scriptures. These are essentials in strengthening yourself in the Lord.
  • Spend time with people who love the Lord and inspire you to pursue Him more. He is our all in all. Apart from Him we can do nothing. Nothing that is made was made apart from Him.
  • When the Lord is in His rightful place as first and One and only, there is no room left for fear.
