Today’s Reading:
Matthew 5
Hebrews 12

“As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us. We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!”

Hebrews‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Spirit of the Lord says,
I really love you underneath it all. I see through the masks and the costumes and the walls, and I really love you underneath it all. You try your best to cover up who you really are, who I made you to be. I Am the One who really loves you, just as you are, underneath it all. Come close to Me. Let Me help you strip off those things you have put on to obscure the real you from view. Let Me help you stop the exhausting work of putting on a face and a voice that are not really yours. Let Me come in and help you remove those false layers you have put on, those protective walls you have put up, so that the world can you as I do, can see what’s underneath all the coverings that hide you from plain view.

““Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.””

Matthew‬ ‭5:14-16‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Why are you hiding behind these masks, personas, false opinions and false voice? What made you think so little of yourself that you had to try and cover it all up to look like the false front of someone else? Can’t you see I need you? Can’t you see that you are loved and perfect as you really are? As you truly are. Come, sit with Me, and let’s remove all of the fake layers that have gotten painted on. Let’s dismantle all of the walls that you have erected to obscure you from being seen, from being heard, from being reached. I Am the One who really loves you underneath it all.

“So be made strong even in your weakness by lifting up your tired hands in prayer and worship. And strengthen your weak knees, for as you keep walking forward on God’s paths all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed!”

Hebrews‬ ‭12:12-13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Let us remove all that is false, all that is not true, all that is not you. Let’s strip away the unreal and reveal the beautiful, unmatched, totally one-of-a-kind you. The voice you must listen to is Mine. The heart you must trust and long to please and understand is Mine. Let all else fall away. Let all of these other concerns and fears and entanglements drop to the ground, and watch the freedom that I bring. Watch the real people who really like the real you that I bring. People who love truth are attracted to truth. Be true. Be you. What’s the risk? You already know that I love you underneath it all. It’s time to be you.

How to Respond

  • Sit with the Lord and ask Him to show you where you are not living in truth, as the true you.
  • Submit to His help to get rid of the lies, the masks and the walls that hide the true you.
  • Pray, Holy Spirit come. Shine a light on the areas of my life where I am not living in truth, where I am not being the true me You created me to be. I need your help to see them, and I need your help to remove them and walk in freedom. Thank You Lord for loving the real, true me.
  • Declare, the Lord loves me. He loves the true, essential, unvarnished me.
  • Decree, I will walk in truth and in freedom. I submit my life to the Lord, to be who He created me to be — it’s the best, most essential, truest version of me.
