Today’s Reading:
Psalm 25
Psalm 37

3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

Psalm 37:3-5

The Spirit of the Lord says,
Delight in the work of your hands. Delight in the work I give you. Allow yourself to use your gifts. Allow yourself to be creative. Allow yourself to have FUN. Why do you wear this heavy burden, this load of a to-do list around your neck like a great weight? Would you step back for a moment and see the gift that this work is? Would you look at it with fresh eyes and acknowledge the amount of creativity and fun that I have placed inside of these tasks for you to unlock?

9 He leads the humble in justice,
And He teaches the humble His way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth
To those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

Psalm 25:9-10

Can you see that you have access to everything you need to get these done with excellence and all joy? Don’t lumber around with this weight of heavy burden. Don’t wear that long face with the sad eyes and the tired heart. Look at what I have set in front of you. Look at the opportunity — to reflect Me, to reflect all that I have put inside of you, to truly do the work brilliantly. Don’t just go through the motions. I have set these tasks before you for a purpose, for a reason. Tackle them with gusto, with joy and with the light of creativity switched on inside of you.

14 The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him,
And He will make them know His covenant.

Psalm 25:14

Make it a game. You so brilliantly devise the mundane into games for children. Make everything on your to-do list a game, and see how it transforms your heart, your perspective, your final products. See how it transforms your life. Why so serious? Why so downtrodden? Your perspective is all wrong. You add extra weight to a burden that is designed to be light. Ask Me for My perspective. Ask Me to be filled with the joy of My Presence and anointed with My oil of gladness. Ask to find treasures during your day — treasures of ideas, solutions, conversations and connections. Ask Me to come to work with you. Ask Me to order your day, your list, your conversations, your relationships.

12 Who is the man who fears the Lord?
He will instruct him in the way he should choose.
13 His soul will abide in prosperity,
And his descendants will inherit the land.

Psalm 25:12-13

Is your work defining you? Or are you defining your work? Are you leaving your mark? Do it with all excellence. Do it with all joy. Do it with Me. Trust and obey. As You hear My voice, let it guide your decisions, your calls, your approach. Watch how it transforms the way things go, the outcomes, and the final result.

How to Respond

  • Shake off the burdens, the assumptions, the weight and the dread of the work the Lord has given you. Ask Him for fresh eyes to see the opportunities to make things light and fun — to make tasks a game, to bring creativity to the dry places and to effect change through divine inspiration.
  • Pray, Holy Spirit come. Fill me with the joy that comes with Your Presence. Give me fresh eyes to see the work and the opportunities You have placed in front of me. Come in please. Order my day. Help me to shake off this heavy burden and approach this work with fresh eyes, with creativity, with inspiration from You and with the heart of a child.
  • Declare, the Lord has given us work as an opportunity to build, design, connect and change things with Him to reflect Him — His brilliance, His creativity and His Kingdom. He wants us to enjoy, delight in and have fun doing the work that He has gifted us. He wants us to make a mark of Kingdom excellence where He has placed us.
  • Decree, I will approach my work with fresh eyes, with a heart bent toward fun and delight, with joy and with expectation that the Lord will whisper brilliant ideas and solutions to me. I will drop the unnecessary burden that I have made work out to be, and I will live light and free, filled with the light of the Lord.
