Today’s Reading:
Psalm 27
Psalm 73
If I had given in to my pain and spoken of what I was really feeling, it would have sounded like unfaithfulness to the next generation. When I tried to understand it all, I just couldn’t. It was too puzzling—too much of a riddle to me. But then one day I was brought into the sanctuaries of God, and in the light of glory, my distorted perspective vanished.
Psalms 73:15-17a TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Grace is in the place of preparation. The place of preparation has become tedious. It feels mundane, and the place seems too small to contain you. This place of preparation has recently undergone a shift that is permitting you to make necessary changes to your structure, approach, outlook, strategy and tactics that will serve you well. My grace is here even in these last moments of the preparation phase, even in the squeezing and keenly felt discomfort that has begun to even be noticed in how you breathe. Don’t try to escape the place of protected preparation.
I was so stupid. I was senseless and ignorant, acting like a brute beast before you, Lord. Yet, in spite of all this, I still belong to you; you hold me by my right hand. You lead me with your secret wisdom. And following you brings me into your brightness and glory!
Psalms 73:22-24 TPT
Get these last pieces into place, and the moment I see that you and all that you have needed to set forth and accomplish here are in position, I will cause you to slide right out into this spacious place I have prepared for you. There is purpose in the hiding, purpose in the forced rearrangements, purpose in the squeezing, the discomfort and the dissatisfaction with this place. You need to be ready to leave, fully ready to leave before you go, because this is a place to which you can never return. The place of preparation is connected to a one-way place whose exit is launching. My grace will make the launching quick and effortless for you. Your job is to be in the right position, with the right pieces, right approach, right mindset, pure heart, clean hands and an attitude that is ready to move forward. Lift your heart, your mind and your attitude upward. It will cause the pain of this place and the pressure of this place to lift off of your heart and shoulders.
Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!
Psalms 27:14 TPT
Be diligent about the work I have set in your hands. These are the final moments of preparation, of rearranging, of positioning that must be in proper alignment for launch. This is a time to get your house in order. This is a time to ensure no lingering things are left undone. You can’t take a casual approach to this mundane and frustrating place of preparation. It’s a space I have prepared for you to protect you, to provide the time and tools and people necessary to ready you for launch. Don’t waste the moment. Don’t despise the moment. Utilize the moment, and I will see you through.
How to Respond
- Set your gaze upon the Lord as you stay steadily working at what the Lord has called you to do in this time.
- Get your house in order — leave no lingering tasks undone.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for being here with me in this tight, uncomfortable place of preparation. Help me to keep my eyes, my heart and my attitude lifted and focused on you and not on my circumstances or frustrations. Thank You for providing this place and time of preparation, so I am equipped, aligned and ready for whatever it is You are launching me into next.
- Declare, The Lord leads me with His secret wisdom, and following Him brings me into His brightness and glory! (Psalm 73:24) I would have despaired if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)
- Decree, I will not despise or waste these last moments in the place of preparation, aligning & equipping. I will be busy rearranging, reworking and setting things in order, so the Lord can launch me easily and suddenly from a place of proper positioning. I will get my house in order, and I will not leave any lingering task undone. I will soon leave this place of preparation never to return to it, and the Lord’s grace will launch me into the wide-open spacious place of destiny.
