Today’s Reading:
Psalm 24
Psalm 139
Yahweh claims the world as his. Everything and everyone belong to him! He’s the one who pushed back oceans to let the dry ground appear, planting firm foundations for the earth. Who, then, is allowed to ascend the mountain of Yahweh? And who has the privilege of entering into God’s Holy Place? Those who are clean—whose works and ways are pure, whose hearts are true and sealed by the truth, those who never deceive, whose words are sure. They will receive Yahweh’s blessing and righteousness given by the Savior-God. They will stand before God, for they seek the pleasure of God’s face, the God of Jacob. Pause in his presence
Psalms 24:1-6 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God of Shining Glory say,
Eternity is here. Eternity is now. Don’t think of eternity as some time in the distant future. Your now, your present, your life on Earth fits into eternity. It’s not some distant thing. Choose your words wisely. They echo in eternity. Live your life well. It leaves fingerprints on eternity. The now-ness of you will resonate throughout eternity. You are an eternal being. Live like one. Live with an eternal mindset rather than a short-sighted mindset.
You perceive every movement of my heart and soul, and you understand my every thought before it even enters my mind. You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. You have laid your hand on me!
Psalms 139:2-5 TPT
Your future is near, and it sprawls out before you. But it’s inexorably attached to your now. Your now causes ripples that impact all of eternity. Be faithful in the now. Be thoughtful in the now. Don’t wait until some future time to be the you you know you is underneath the labels and responsibilities and current expectations. It’s time to push all of that to the side and be and live as the you, the pure essential you I created before time began. The labels, the titles, the opinions of others don’t add up to a hill of beans. They only act as constraints that lead to regret. Recover the essential you. This is a time to be holy, to be righteous, to be honest and pure. It’s not a time to live weighted down with expectations, labels, people’s restraining, disempowering words and a residue of falsehood and inauthenticity all over your soul. This is the time when I Am calling out true identity. I’m speaking forth and drawing out true identity. The old and the heavy and the assumed or accepted identities put on you by others, put on you by words, taken on by you because of assumed responsibility — this is all muddying the true picture of you. It is obscuring the essential and pure, beautifully honest version of you.
I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord! You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place; carefully, skillfully you shaped me from nothing to something. You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book.
Psalms 139:14-16 TPT
It’s time to cut the restraints. It’s time to be who I made you to be — honestly, openly and truly. It’s time to step into the version of you, the true you whose shoes you will walk in for all of eternity. Eternity is calling, and eternity is here. Shed the weights and the old clothes, the old labels, the false names; and walk out as the pure, true, crystal clear, one and only, beautiful you.
How to Respond
- Sit with the Lord in a time of self-examination. Ask Him to help you see your true, pure identity. And ask Him to help you leave behind anything that doesn’t align with who He says you are.
- Pray, Lord, thank You for designing me before time began and for embedding my life with purpose and meaning. Help me to align fully with who You say I am, and help me to walk in the purposes You have for me. I know You placed me in this location and in this time to forge the future as I serve Your purposes on the Earth.
- Declare, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. The Lord did not make a single mistake with me. He has infused my life with purpose. He has gone before me and prepared good works for me to do.
- Decree, I am who the Lord says I am. I will shed all of the labels, false names, wrong clothes, assumed responsibilities and lies about who I am. I will walk in the purity of who He says I am, because that is who He made me to be. I will live with an eternal mindset, and fully be who He made me to be starting now.
