Today’s Readings:
Psalm 92
Psalm 107
Isaiah 43
12 The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree,
Psalm 92:12-15
He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Planted in the house of the Lord,
They will flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They will still yield fruit in old age;
They shall be full of sap and very green,
15 To declare that the Lord is upright;
He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
The Lord says,
All of the uncertainty has caused you to make room for Me. You have laid down plans, ambitions and even life as you knew it to pursue Me, to be where I placed you, and you haven’t moved. You have kept yourself firmly planted, and you have drawn closer to Me, to My heart, to My voice. You have let My nearness change you, and you are different now — more beautiful, more gentle, more approachable than you were before your life and circumstances got turned upside down.
Look at this beautiful one that is emerging from the uncertainty. Look at the completely different approach to life, the more gentle demeanor, the peace that flows off of you in waves. You are as a fragrant blossoming rose, bringing delight to all who encounter you. You have ceded your entire, “what’s next?” to Me. You have placed it in My hands, and I will not disappoint you.
4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region;
Psalm 107:4-9
They did not find a way to an inhabited city.
5 They were hungry and thirsty;
Their soul fainted within them.
6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble;
He delivered them out of their distresses.
7 He led them also by a straight way,
To go to an inhabited city.
8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness,
And for His wonders to the sons of men!
9 For He has satisfied the thirsty soul,
And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.
I will not leave you in this desert wilderness. I Am plucking you out of this place and setting you into a beautiful inhabited city. I Am setting you into a place of life, vibrancy and inspiration. I Am setting you into a place that is a well watered garden, where you are not the only blossoming one in a dry and weary place. You have made room for Me, now watch as I make a new place for you. Watch as I move your circumstances and delight you beyond measure. Your days of extreme uncertainty are drawing to a close, as I launch you out into new directions. You are walking into days of new, new new.
19 “Behold, I will do something new,
Isaiah 43:19-21
Now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it?
I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert.
20 “The beasts of the field will glorify Me,
The jackals and the ostriches,
Because I have given waters in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert,
To give drink to My chosen people.
21 “The people whom I formed for Myself
Will declare My praise.
You will look around and realize that almost nothing is familiar. Nothing looks like the place you have been — that colorless place of monotony and uncertainty. You will now walk in sparkling days of new, filled with vibrant colors and the sounds of celebrated life. Change is here. Change is upon you. Change is at your doorstep. Don’t be afraid to take the offer, receive the package or connect with the new person. This is a time of accelerated and rapid change. You are no longer waiting for it. It is here, on your doorstep. And soon you will look up and say, “how did everything change? I was there and now I am here. I was going through the motions and now I am living.”
35 He changes a wilderness into a pool of water
Psalm 107:35-38
And a dry land into springs of water;
36 And there He makes the hungry to dwell,
So that they may establish an inhabited city,
37 And sow fields and plant vineyards,
And gather a fruitful harvest.
38 Also He blesses them and they multiply greatly,
And He does not let their cattle decrease.
Watch as this change breathes new life into you. And you will have the character to sustain the blessing, the change and the new, because you made room for Me in the desert place. You walked with Me daily in the wilderness. That was the testing ground of your faith. And now it’s time to move past the Jordan into the promise. It’s time to leave the wilderness behind and look ahead with joy, expectation and delight. It’s time to see your promises fulfilled, your miracles arrive, your dreams made reality. The time of dwelling and wandering in the wilderness is through. Come, take My hand, and walk with Me right into the new.
How to Respond
- Thank the Lord for the gift of the wilderness and for being with you in the wilderness period. Thank Him for how He has changed you in this place.
- Pray, Lord, help me to walk with with You in confidence out from the wilderness into the new opportunities and connections You have for me. Help me to embrace the new, the change and the blessing that You are bringing into my life.
- Declare, the Lord is the master of times and seasons. He has marked the time of the wilderness as reaching its end, and He is bringing me into a new season and new place of light, life, fulfillment and change.
- Decree, my time in the wilderness has changed me and has deepened my connection with and trust in the Lord. I will walk confidently and boldly with great anticipation of good into the new things He has prepared for me. The wilderness was never the destination. He is walking me into the place of promise now.
