Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 28
Psalm 91

14 Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, O scoffers,
Who rule this people who are in Jerusalem,
15 Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death,
And with [k]Sheol we have made a [l]pact.
The overwhelming [m]scourge will not reach us when it passes by,
For we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.”
16
Therefore thus says the Lord [n]God,
“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone,
A costly cornerstone for the foundation, [o]firmly placed.
He who believes in it will not be [p]disturbed.
17 “I will make justice the measuring line
And righteousness the level;
Then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies
And the waters will overflow the secret place.

Isaiah 28:14-17 NASB 1995

The Spirit of the Living God says,
I Am sustaining My people. My heart is for sustaining My people. I sustain them through the good times and the bad. I sustain them in darkness and in light. I Am the All-sufficient one. I Am the author, giver and sustainer of life. This is a time of necessary sustaining. This is a time where I Am the great rock upon which to be anchored. I will hold you fast and secure, and I will sustain you. Don’t grow weary in well doing. Don’t grow weary in the fight. Return to the rock of your salvation. Return to the source of living water. Return to the fountain of every blessing where your every need is fully and abundantly supplied in Christ Jesus, your Savior and King. I Am the Lord of lords. I Am the Lord of all.

“When you abide under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High. He’s the hope that holds me and the stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and my great confidence. He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy, and he will protect you from false accusation and any deadly curse. His massive arms are wrapped around you, protecting you. You can run under his covering of majesty and hide. His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm.”

Psalms‬ ‭91:1-4‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Let me sustain you. Let me be the lifter of your chin, the one who lights your countenance and causes you to shine brightly from the inside out. My sustaining light and power inside of you will cause you to be a source of great strength and hope, a steady and fixed point for many who don’t know Me yet. Rely on Me to sustain you. Allow Me to sustain you, because in doing so, you will be a strength for many. My sustaining of you will have a chain reaction and bring sustaining life, energy, hope and strength to many. Don’t let the flood get you down. Don’t let the rising waters, the winds, or the rough seas frighten you. You are anchored on Christ the solid rock. In him is no sinking sand. He will sustain you. He will keep you. Keep your eyes, your heart and your life tightly anchored to Him. He has work for you to do in the storm. He has work for you to do in the flood.

“For here is what the Lord has spoken to me: “Because you loved me, delighted in me, and have been loyal to my name, I will greatly protect you. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will feel my presence in your time of trouble. I will deliver you and bring you honor. I will satisfy you with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!””

Psalms‬ ‭91:14-16‬ ‭TPT‬‬

First and foremost your call is to stand, to shine and to stay steadfast. Do not be moved. Be at attention like a soldier. Your determination to stand fast, to stay tethered tightly to the solid rock of your salvation, your Savior, Lord and King, Christ Jesus — and Him alone — will fortify many. I’m calling you to stand and rest in the knowledge — in the great confidence — that I will sustain you through the flood, through the winds, through the storm and the rough seas. You are a vessel through whom I will sustain many — if you stand, shine and hold fast to the rock of your salvation.

How to Respond

  • Determine in your heart to stand firm in the Lord, to shine brightly as a believer and to tightly anchor yourself to Him — come what may.
  • Pray, Lord, I can’t see what is ahead, but You can. Thank You that You can and will sustain me whatever comes my way. Your heart is for me, and You have provided a way for me to be sustained and to be a strength that sustains many. Help me to hold fast to You and the convictions You have placed in my heart. Help me to not be moved.
  • Declare, great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. He is the author, giver and sustainer of life, and He is providing the way and the strength to sustain me in the stormy days ahead.
  • Decree, I will stand on the rock of my salvation, my Lord and King Christ Jesus. I will shine brightly in the storm and speak and live in a way that honors and pleases Him. I will not bow to man or to the fear of man. I will fear the Lord more than I fear the opinion or consequence of any man. I will be tightly anchored to Christ my King, and I will not be moved.
