Psalm 86
Isaiah 30
11 Teach me Your way, O Lord;
Psalm 86:11-12
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
12 I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And will glorify Your name forever.
The Spirit of the Lord says,
I’ve put in your heart some things that you can do all by yourself. I’m not saying without Me. I’m saying without structure, without a formal framework, without guidance, sponsorship or approval from others. There are some things I have called you to do all by yourself — with Me. I will give you instruction, and I will dance with you in the process. You don’t need anyone else for some of these secret seeds that I have planted in your heart. Step out as I call it, and make the move yourself.
I Am calling you to get into rhythm with Me, to get in sync with Me, to dance to the beat of My drum, to move to the sound of My calling the steps. This is a dance I Am calling you to do all by yourself, with Me.
20 Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher. 21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left. 22 And you will defile your graven images overlaid with silver, and your molten images plated with gold. You will scatter them as an impure thing, and say to them, “Be gone!”
Isaiah 30:20-22
Get ready for fun. Let down your defenses. Lay down your preconceived notions about your abilities and what you perceive you may be lacking. I Am calling you into this dance with empty hands. All I need is yourself and your willingness to move to the instruction as I call it. You will get more comfortable with every instruction that you obey and every step that you take. The unfamiliar will become the familiar. Hearing and obeying My voice and My instruction immediately, on beat, in step with Me will become second nature.
23 Then He will give you rain for the seed which you will sow in the ground, and bread from the yield of the ground, and it will be rich and plenteous; on that day your livestock will graze in a roomy pasture.
Isaiah 30:23
Delight in the unexpected. Delight in hearing from Me and getting insight from Me in ways you don’t expect, in ways you would have previously been quick to dismiss. Lean In. Be open. Have the eyes and heart and willingness of a child. Walk in childlike faith. I can speak through anything I please. It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else but you. Your heart will know it was a sign or a word or a wink or a nod from Me. That’s what I’m after, your heart — intimacy and to speak in a secret language that only we know. It is perceivable and explainable to others, but this isn’t for their approval. Explaining these things to others can be to share the story of your path with Me, to instruct them on how to hear from Me, or to marvel together at the surprising works and words that come from Me. But this is a dance and a move and a time that I Am singling you out, and I am calling you to move all by yourself with Me. Married couples — you are one. Move all by yourselves together with Me.
This is a season and a moment to have so much fun. I’ve laid down the tracks, and I Am beginning to make the calls. Come out onto the dance floor with nothing but yourself, and get ready to dance. Get ready to move as I instruct and make each call.
How to Respond
- Lay down your burdens and expectations, your excuses and perceived limitations before the Lord.
- Pray, Lord I will move where and how and when You want me to move. I will do it without seeking the approval or participation of others as You make it clear that this is a move you are calling on me or my family to make alone with You. Help me to put aside all that is hindering me from believing I can do this alone with You without formal structures or frameworks, without staff, without partners. Make it clear Lord what it is You are calling me or my family to do alone with You.
- Declare, the Lord is calling many out — to put aside limitations, perceptions of lack and fear — for special assignments that He is calling them out to do alone with Him. He desires to train us step-by-step to hear His voice and get very familiar with stepping into the unknown as He calls.
- Decree, I lay down all of my excuses, limitations, perceptions of lack and fear of the unknown before the Lord. Lord, You are welcome to call my moves. Tell me what to do, one step and then the next, and I will do it without a safety net, all by myself (all by ourselves) with You. I am okay with the Lord’s instruction to me looking different from the instruction He gives to others.
