Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 40-41
21 Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Isaiah 40:21-24 NASB 1995
Has it not been declared to you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 It is He who [s]sits above the [t]circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
23 He it is who reduces rulers to nothing,
Who makes the judges of the earth [u]meaningless.
The Spirit of the Lord says,
I bring the chaos into order. I Am the God of order. I Am the stability of your times. Mine is an unshakeable Kingdom. We are marching steadily into the shaking. You will see strongholds fall. You will see wicked institutions crumble. You will see evil people exposed. You will see evil deeds laid bare. This is a time of the truth being made plain. This is a time of revealing and exposure. The exposure of evil will be so great, so undeniable and completely unable to be hidden or concealed again.
8 “But you, Israel, My servant,
Isaiah 41:8-11 NASB 1995
Jacob whom I have chosen,
Descendant of Abraham My friend,
9 You whom I have [af]taken from the ends of the earth,
And called from its remotest parts
And said to you, ‘You are My servant,
I have chosen you and not rejected you.
10 ‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
11 “Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored;
Those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish.
Evil and wickedness will be put on naked display for all to see. Yet I Am there. I will be there, hovering in the midst of you. I will be with you, guiding you, covering you and giving you wisdom in how to navigate this very rocky, very uncertain time of extraordinary shaking. Cling to Me. Cling to the finished work of the cross. Cling to truth. In the shaking, I Am your anchor and your firm foundation. You need not be moved. My grace is sufficient for your time. My grace is sufficient for your energy. My grace is sufficient to illuminate the way you should go and the ones with whom you must join hands in prayer battle, in worship warfare, in the violent decrees that destroy the reign of terrorizing darkness.
This is a dark chapter, but My light shines through you. My light has risen and is rising upon you to advance, to be an example and to destroy the works of evil in your day.
15 “Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges;
Isaiah 41:15-16 NASB 1995
You will thresh the mountains and pulverize them,
And will make the hills like chaff.
16 “You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away,
And the storm will scatter them;
But you will rejoice in the Lord,
You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.
This time is like a great squeezing and a great wringing out. You will be the ones with whom I wipe the table clean. You will be the ones with whom I wipe the slate clean. Be in position. Be at the ready. Submit to the squeezing. Submit to My wringing out in your life, in your mindset, in your schedule. Only what is pure will remain. Only what is honorable will remain. Only what is profitable for the fight will remain. And with you, I will wipe the slate clean. It is with you that I will restore us to the ancient foundations. It is with you that I will wipe away the works, the doers and the remnants of evil. You are the tool I will use to wipe the slate clean, wipe the table clean and restore us to the austerity and simple beauty of the ancient foundations. Submit to being that tool in my hands.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord, I submit to You. Anything You can use from me put to use. I want to be part of what You are doing to destroy the works and plans of evil. I want to be one who is found unshaken, anchored to Christ my solid rock and firm foundation. I want to be one whose life shines like a bright light and draws many to You in these dark times. I want to be part of the restoration of our nation to its glorious God-centered, God-inspired ancient foundations.
- Declare, great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. He brings chaos into order. He speaks, and worlds come into existence. He places leaders in places of authority and He takes others down. He is sovereign. He is Lord of all. This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.
- Decree, I lay down my life to the cause of Christ, the cause of truth, the cause of what is right and the cause of freedom. I will not be a benchwarmer or a sideline warrior. I will get into the places in the fight to which the Lord my Savior calls me, and I will not relent. I will walk and live in purity, so that those who are in despair will see my light and come to know Jesus. I will fully submit to be squeezed and wrung out, so that my life is well positioned for use by the King of kings.
