Today’s Readings:
Psalm 107

4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region;
They did not find a way to an inhabited city.
5 They were hungry and thirsty;
Their soul fainted within them.
6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble;
He delivered them out of their distresses.
7 He led them also by a straight way,
To go to an inhabited city.
8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness,
And for His wonders to the sons of men!
9 For He has satisfied the thirsty soul,
And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.

Psalm 107:4-9

The Lord says,
The wilderness is not that far from the city. You feel isolated, banished and like you are making no progress, but look. You can see the city from here. You can see connection, community and love from here. You can see provision and a bountiful table from here. You can see a home of your own from here. You didn’t know it, but I have been guiding your steps steadily through the wilderness right toward this vibrant city built on ancient foundations. It is a place of old, but it will be new to you. I have been walking with you across this vast, seemingly unending wilderness that sprawls out as far as the eye can see in every direction. But today, you can see the city. You can hear the faint sounds of life there, and it is not far from here. It’s a day’s walk. Maybe two.

15 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness,
And for His wonders to the sons of men!
16 For He has shattered gates of bronze
And cut bars of iron asunder.

Psalm 107:15-16

See how the steps from the city are open access from the wilderness? This is a city of destiny, where real living happens, where Divine connections and bustling life happens. The sand and the dust from the wilderness covers everything there now. But upon My arrival to this ancient city of destiny, the winds will change; and the winds will find their source in the city, not the wilderness. The city will be transformed into a sparkling, beautiful even more vibrant place, and the Divine winds from the city will blow out into the wilderness and make it a blooming and glorious place.

35 He changes a wilderness into a pool of water
And a dry land into springs of water;
36 And there He makes the hungry to dwell,
So that they may establish an inhabited city,
37 And sow fields and plant vineyards,
And gather a fruitful harvest.
38 Also He blesses them and they multiply greatly,
And He does not let their cattle decrease.

Psalm 107:35-38

This city of destiny is built as a fortress, and it is protected from invasion and manipulation. This city of destiny and purpose is hidden in plain sight, welcoming those who have been trekking and wandering in the wilderness. Those who walked with Me through the wilderness have open and free access here. Those who have been seeking truth are welcome here. Those whose hearts burn with fire for Me are welcome here.

39 When they are diminished and bowed down
Through oppression, misery and sorrow,
40 He pours contempt upon princes
And makes them wander in a pathless waste.
41 But He sets the needy securely on high away from affliction,
And makes his families like a flock.
42 The upright see it and are glad;
But all unrighteousness shuts its mouth.

Psalm 107:39-42

Those who seek to destroy My ways and My people will never find entrance here. It is open to the open hearted, to the truth seekers, to the lovers of Mine, to the downcast and oppressed. The tormentors, rulers and oppressors, those who love to lie to, hurt, steal from and manipulate the people have no access point to this city of destiny. To them it appears as a great walled place with no entrances. But to those who have been wandering, to those who have been seeking, to those whose hearts are open, the city of destiny says, come.

How to Respond

  • Worship the Lord in purity. Remind yourself of His faithfulness to you and your family.
  • Ask the Lord to keep walking with you and to guide you out of the wilderness into this city of destiny.
  • Declare, the Lord has never left me nor forsaken me. He has walked with me this whole time through the wilderness, and He has lifted my head to show me the way to the city of destiny.
  • Decree, the Lord has prepared a way and a place for those who desire truth, for those who seek Him, for those with open hearts. He has made an entrance into the city of destiny, and He is bringing us out of the wilderness now. The enemy and those with him have no access or entrance into this glorious city of destiny.
