Today’s Readings:
Isaiah 61-62
61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Isaiah 61:1-4
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
4 They shall build up the ancient ruins;
they shall raise up the former devastations;
they shall repair the ruined cities,
the devastations of many generations.
The Lord says,
I’m breaking through. I’m breaking through oppressive and demonic systems of governance that place heavy burdens on the backs of people, that are built on lies meant to control and manipulate. I’m breaking through religious spirits of the same order — those that steal joy, bring burdens and rob the people of freedom — especially the ones that do it in My Name. Yes, I will break through them, and I will break them apart.
7 Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion;
Isaiah 61:7-8
instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot;
therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion;
they shall have everlasting joy.
8 For I the Lord love justice;
I hate robbery and wrong;
I will faithfully give them their recompense,
and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
I Am breaking through systems that oppress people by gender, class, ethnicity and education. I AM breaking through, and I will break these systems, lies and institutions that have weighted the people down, that have stolen life, agency, joy and the ability to build a good life. I will not only break through, but I will break these systems, companies, organizations, entire religions, sects and governance structures for good. I will break them for good. I will see that they are broken beyond repair, and the people will dismantle what remains in great joy, in triumph and with shouts of freedom and victory.
6 On your walls, O Jerusalem,
Isaiah 62:6-7
I have set watchmen;
all the day and all the night
they shall never be silent.
You who put the Lord in remembrance,
take no rest,
7 and give him no rest
until he establishes Jerusalem
and makes it a praise in the earth.
I Am breaking through, and I Am winning. I Am turning over the tables of well established systems of oppression, and I will expose their rigged games and systems against the people. I Am exposing systemic lies, corrupt structures and mechanisms built to control the people. I Am tearing down strongholds of regional principalities, and I Am giving strategies and instruction to My watchmen on the walls — for how to eject these controlling principalities from the scene, from the region, from their grip on the people.
11 Behold, the Lord has proclaimed
Isaiah 62:11-12
to the end of the earth:
Say to the daughter of Zion,
“Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.”
12 And they shall be called The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the Lord;
and you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.
I Am breaking through, and I Am calling My people into partnership with Me, with the breakthrough to bust down walls that need destroying and to secure the breakthrough on behalf of many. This is a participatory breakthrough. I Am breaking through, but I want your partnership, your participation, your engagement and your fight to bring the walls down, to bring finality, to put the oppressors in their place, to show the world that the people participated in their own breakthrough and the Hand of the Lord guided them through it. I Am breaking through. Come join Me. Come participate. Come stand on the walls and run in to dismantle evil when the moment calls for it, when I call for it.
How to Respond
- Get your hopes up. These are days of breakthrough. The Lord is breaking through.
- Pray, Lord show me how and where to position myself in these days of breakthrough. Show me where I can be of most use to you on behalf of the freedom of the people. Help me to not miss an opportunity to participate in the breakthrough with You Lord.
- Declare, the Lord is breaking through corrupt systems of governance, control, religion and oppression. He is breaking through them and calling us in to participate in His breakthroughs. He is giving instruction to His watchmen on how to force out regional principalities and how to join Him to bring freedom to the people.
- Decree, I will join the Lord in delivering His breakthrough for my region and country. I will not shy away from engaging in the overthrowing of oppression as the Lord guides and instructs.
