Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 61

61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners;
2 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Lord says,
Resurrection of hearts. Resurrection of dreams. Resurrection of lost arts and all sorts of lost things — dreams that have been laid down, hobbies, passions and skills that fell by the wayside. I Am reconnecting people with the creativity that I wove into their DNA. Special projects that bring old unused skills into use will seem to just appear. Requests for help will come to you for kinds of work you haven’t done in years. I’m resurrecting that spark, that vibrant creativity. It will be like dusting off old tools and rediscovering a long lost part of your identity.

4 Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,
They will raise up the former devastations;
And they will repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
5 Strangers will stand and pasture your flocks,
And foreigners will be your farmers and your vinedressers.

Isaiah 61:4-5

We’re moving past this time of just barely getting by. We’re moving into a time with light and space and margin for reconnecting with the creative desires of your soul. It’s a time to build, and you will desire to make it beautiful rather than just functional. You will point out that beauty empowers and improves function. You will become a champion and a passionate lover of this craft, this creative endeavor, this old friend that you have dusted off; and it will be like a jolt of new life and energy to your entire being. Your eyes and mind will be filled with possibilities in a place that once seemed plain and boring.

6 But you will be called the priests of the Lord;
You will be spoken of as ministers of our God.
You will eat the wealth of nations,
And in their riches you will boast.
7 Instead of your shame you will have a double portion,
And instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion.
Therefore they will possess a double portion in their land,
Everlasting joy will be theirs.
8 For I, the Lord, love justice,
I hate robbery in the burnt offering;
And I will faithfully give them their recompense
And make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 Then their offspring will be known among the nations,
And their descendants in the midst of the peoples.
All who see them will recognize them
Because they are the offspring whom the Lord has blessed.

Isaiah 61:6-9

I Am resurrecting the creative spirit. I Am igniting the creative spark that will roar into a flame, and I Am putting old lost tools into the hands of those who once wielded them with skill and confidence, with mastery and alacrity. And these lost arts will be lost no longer. In fact, these lost arts will be taught and shared with younger generations who will use them for completely new applications.

10 I will rejoice greatly in the Lord,
My soul will exult in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,
And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise
To spring up before all the nations.

Isaiah 61:10-11

I Am reviving lost arts, and it will stir up life, vision and passion again in individual hearts. It will be a beautiful mini-Renaissance that builds and multiplies, spreads and grows. It will expand exponentially, and there will be no end in sight to the expanse of the creative flame I have lit and no end to the many extraordinary uses and directions and applications for this creativity. It will permeate and will be woven into every facet of society, industry, art and home making. It will be a revival of beauty in the human spirit again, and it will mark every part of the world.

How to Respond

  • Ask the Lord to remind you of an old skill that has fallen out of use in your life that He wants you to pick back up. Ask Him to give you an outlet and a purpose for it.
  • Pray, thank You Lord that You waste nothing. Thank You that You are reigniting a creative flame in the hearts of people. Thank You that You are reviving a value for true beauty in the human spirit again. Let me be part of what You are doing.
  • Declare, the Lord is resurrecting lost arts. He is igniting a spark that will roar into a flame of creativity. This outpouring of creativity will speak to the human spirit the importance of true beauty.
  • Decree, I will pick up old skills that I have forgotten about. I will be part of the Lord’s resurrection of creativity and the creation of true beauty. I will see and experience and be part of this glorious Renaissance that starts small and spans all generations and every aspect of life. It will be a beautiful act of worship to the Lord to use the skills He has given me to create beauty and bring beauty to the world around me.
