Today’s Readings:
Joshua 10-11
Psalm 85
23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had spoken to Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Thus the land had rest from war.
Joshua 11:23
The Lord says,
Resurrection, turnaround, victory, celebration and the triumph of a final battle. Victory is in sight. Celebration is in sight. An end to the fight is in sight. The win is in hand, and it is near. The enemy will not be able to steal victory from the jaws of defeat this time. The jaws of defeat and justice will snap shut like a trap surrounding many, many, many. Many whom you would not expect. Scores who you would.
8 I will hear what God the Lord will say;
Psalm 85:8-9
For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones;
But let them not turn back to folly.
9 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land.
Don’t let their cries of “foul play,” “mistakes,” and “innocence” tug at your heart strings. Don’t let their whimpers of “wrong place at the wrong time” fool you. This is like the warring tribe that fooled Joshua — the Gibeonites. They will cry and whine. Let them cry and whine. Don’t give an inch. Do not release these people. Do not let them go. If you stand your ground you will see the crocodile tears and calls for sympathy devolve into screeching, accusations and insults. They are not sorry, and they will not change. They are only sorry to be caught. They are only sorry to be on the back foot. They are only sorry to be at the mercy of the people.
17 “Remember what Amalek did to you along the way when you came out from Egypt, 18 how he met you along the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear when you were faint and weary; and he did not fear God. 19 Therefore it shall come about when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you must not forget.
Deuteronomy 25:17-19
Do not have mercy on them to such a degree that it allows them to roam free again. They are the leaven of tyranny. They are the leaven of of immorality. They are the leaven of discontent, division, weak-mindedness, compromise and vile abuses. You can show mercy but not mercy that destroys what you have just fought for and won. This kind of mercy does not allow the guilty to return to taint the fabric of society. They cannot rejoin you.
Look at what they have shown you they are capable of and willing to do. They will destroy every one and everything around them for selfish gain, for self-preservation, for power, pleasure and wealth. No, they must not be allowed to rejoin the community. The trap that has caught them must contain them and keep them separate from the people. They must not be allowed to taint that which has just been cleaned.
15 Just as the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.
Joshua 11:15
Remember that mercy has two sides, and mercy should never injure or endanger the innocent to give relief to the guilty. Position your heart to hear Me. Your cries for justice have been heard. You will see them answered. You will experience great and numerous counts of justice in the days ahead. My caution to you is this, do not get so swept up in victory that you forget what it was for. Don’t take the win and be permissive in how the win touches the people. Let the wins and the echoes of your cries for justice be lines in the sand, be landmarks and reminders of what was at stake, what it cost and why you cannot cede ANY TERRITORY to the enemy or those with him. This is about occupying every square inch of ground we have fought for and won. The enemy does not get a parcel in the far corner to do dark deeds. NO. Vanquish him and his players from the land.
42 Joshua captured all these kings and their lands at one time, because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.
Joshua 10:42
This is about your children. This is about your nation, your community, the future of many generations. Cede no ground. Release no territory. Mercy looks like being kind to your enemies while they are locked up and far separated from the people, unable to taint and poison the land again. This is a word that warriors can understand. Lukewarm Christendom with a wrong definition of grace cannot comprehend what it is to protect your family from darkness. False grace is what got you here. So be a warrior or let the warriors handle this one. Don’t open your mouth in sympathy to those who have destroyed so many lives. You can minister to them where they are exiled, but you cannot and shall not bring them back here or carry messages for them. This is to protect the flock. The wolves must remain locked up.
How to Respond
- Spend time with the Lord. Read the book of Joshua – especially the passages about Joshua’s encounter with the Gibeonites and his warring with the Amalekites.
- Ensure that you are in a church family that speaks the truth, does not water down the Gospel and does not make a mockery of God’s grace by creating a culture of permissiveness for sin.
- Pray, Lord, show Me the appropriate way to love my enemies and those who have done so much to destroy the nation, world and family. Give me eyes to see them as You do and the wisdom and strength to engage as You would have me — in love and also in protection of my family and nation.
- Declare, the Lord is bringing victory, justice and freedom. He is shutting the trap on those who have been enemies of the people.
- Decree, those who have been traitors to the people and the nation will not have the opportunity to rejoin society. I am a warrior, and I am fighting for, defending and occupying the territory that has been wrestled back from the enemy. I will cede no ground to the enemy, nor will I give them a voice in this beautiful land that the Lord is giving back to us.
God bless You and Your’s 🙏 💪🙌
