Today’s Readings:
Psalm 104-106
106 Praise the Lord!
Psalm 106:1
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
The Lord says,
Seek Me first. Seek Me first in boldness and in purity. Let your desire for Me drive you. Let your desire for Me inspire beautiful expressions of your love toward Me. Let your thoughts of Me consume you. Be single-minded in your pursuit of Me. Let all of your other pursuits shrink in comparison.
105 Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
Psalm 105:1-3
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders.
3 Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.
Seek My face. Seek to know My heart. Seek to know My ways and to be imbued with power from My Presence. Seek to be strengthened in My Presence. Let your desire for Me be what drives you, what propels you, what lights your eyes and inspires your soul. Wrap yourself in My Presence like a cloak. Make My Presence become your dwelling place. Make My heart your single pursuit. And watch how I change your life. Watch as all of these other gifts and blessings and miracles are added unto you. This is Kingdom living. Seek Me first. Make Me first, and everything else is added as a byproduct of our love.
33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
Psalm 104:33-34
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34 Let my meditation be pleasing to Him;
As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.
Your love and heart for Me, your trust in Me are the foundations of faith. And faith produces. Be disciplined in your mind and heart to keep your faith in Me, to keep your love true. Live in childlike faith. Keep your heart and your eyes young and filled with wonder, with joy, with life, light and Me. Trust that I will come through for you. Believe in the impossible, and let your imagination build beautiful places, ideas and new ways of being. I created you to create. It’s time to daydream again. It’s time to cast a vision for the future again. It’s time to reach out and pull that future into the now.
Fight to keep your trust in Me. I will make My move. I will bring change. I will disrupt the order of the day. Keep your eyes on Me, and you won’t be shaken. Keep your eyes on Me, and you will remain firmly planted as a pillar of light and strength amidst all of the shaking. Keep Me first. Pursue Me first. And make your dwelling with Me.
3 How blessed are those who keep justice,
Psalm 106:3
Who practice righteousness at all times!
Shore up your boundaries. Ensure that you have strong boundaries in place around your heart, your mind, your family and your home. Be disciplined in protecting the strength of those boundaries. These days will test those. Live in joy. Live from the overflow of the joy I have filled your heart with. Joy is not happenstance. This joy you have found in seeking My face is the strength to carry you through the day. Joy brings a buoyancy to your life, and it literally lifts you up. It makes you lighter. It gives you up-higher perspective.
4 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Psalm 105:4
Seek His face continually.
Come, seek My face. Seek My heart. Be filled with joy to the overflowing, and let that be what carries you through the day. This beautiful virtuous cycle of infilling and strengthening is made possible in ongoing, unbroken communion with Me.
How to Respond
- Make pursuit of the Lord your top priority. Push all other things to a lower place of importance.
- Seek the Lord in purity. Ask Him to bring His Presence for wisdom, for joy, for strength — and watch as He does.
- Pray, Lord, help me to seek you first, to keep you first and to keep my heart pure before you. Help me to keep the boundary lines of my mind, heart and home secure from enemy advances.
- Declare, I will seek the Lord first. I am putting my trust in Him and asking Him to show me His heart, His ways and His perspective.
- Declare, the Lord is faithful in all His ways. As I seek Him, His goodness and mercy, His blessing and love follow and overtake my life.
