Today’s Readings:
Isaiah 61
Amos 9
61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Isaiah 61:1-4
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners;
2 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
4 Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,
They will raise up the former devastations;
And they will repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
The Lord says,
Resurrection. New life. New birth and resurrection from death. Resurrection from old life into new life. Happiness, excitement and joy springing up from the earth, from the very ground itself. Accelerated seed and accelerated harvest.
What seemed dead and gone will suddenly and unexpectedly spring forth in brand new life, not as it was but unmistakably new, transformed, whole, alive, well and changed for good. New seeds that have barely been planted are being planted into resurrection soil. While things that have been lying dead and dormant for years and even decades will spring forth unexpectedly overnight, so too will new seed that the dirt has barely had time to cover. So too will these new freshly, barely planted seeds spring forth as fully mature and ripe for harvest overnight.
It will be a very disorienting time as old dreams, prayers, hopes and desires — even some that had long since been put away — come barreling into your reality, come barreling into your line of sight, onto your land, into your path in undeniable and wholly unexpected ways. At the same time, new dreams, new prayers, barely asked for desires will manifest right alongside them.
13 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord,
Amos 9:13-15
“When the plowman will overtake the reaper
And the treader of grapes him who sows seed;
When the mountains will drip sweet wine
And all the hills will be dissolved.
14 “Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel,
And they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them;
They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine,
And make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 “I will also plant them on their land,
And they will not again be rooted out from their land
Which I have given them,”
Says the Lord your God.
This is the season of resurrection and accelerated harvest. This is a day and a time of the reaper overtaking the sower. This is a time where you look up, you wake up one day, and you are surrounded by blessing after blessing after blessing, answered prayer after answered prayer and numerous vibrant, life-giving opportunities. These are the days of connecting with strangers for Kingdom assignments. These are the days of those who have felt like outcasts being put into tribes and families for acceleration, life, joy and Kingdom advancement. These are days of boundless joy and childlike delight and faith. These are the days of bounding into new heights and places that never even seemed fathomable to ascend. I Am launching you to heights you could not fathom or imagine. You never even dared to dream about these heights, yet you will find yourself there ruling in the light and the grace of My glory.
10 I will rejoice greatly in the Lord,
Isaiah 61:10-11
My soul will exult in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,
And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise
To spring up before all the nations.
I will give you eagle’s eyes to see and perceive and understand what is happening beneath you, and like a mother eagle you will be one who places the people under your charge in safety, forces them out of their nest when it is time, and removes the predators, the sluggards, the complainers, the toxic and the visionless from the mountain. You will teach, exalt and prune from this mountaintop, and the people will rejoice to be under the authority and care of a wise and Spirit-filled leader.
11 “In that day I will raise up the fallen booth of David,
Amos 9:11-12
And wall up its breaches;
I will also raise up its ruins
And rebuild it as in the days of old;
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom
And all the nations who are called by My name,”
Declares the Lord who does this.
The days of you being as a lone tree whipping in the desert winds, standing — standing against the prevailing relentless winds of culture, of politics, of religion and standing in defiance to anything and anyone who did not align with the Spirit and the Word of the Lord Your God, who did not align with Me — accomplished their purpose. Those days of testing, of being stripped bare in front of all, those days of standing, enduring, defying in order to remain pure, in order to do what was right, in order to walk in obedience to the Lord Your God have accomplished their purpose. Those days have strengthened your spine, your will, your mind and your heart in ways you cannot understand or measure, but you know it to be true. Those days have prepared you to to be launched, to become an “overnight success.” We know there is no such thing as an overnight success, but you will find yourself having been launched overnight to heights that you never fathomed. Your steadfastness, your immovability, your arms ever-clenched tightly around Me is what has qualified you, and it is what will continue to qualify and keep you in this position of authority and influence.
I Am raising the stakes but you are ready. I am raising your profile, but you have been tested. I Am raising your name, and it can withstand the scrutiny. The wilderness testing has served its purpose. The wilderness training ground has created many Generals and Captains. The wilderness has accomplished its purpose, and now is the time for launching.
How to Respond
- Desire truth in the innermost parts. Sanctify yourself before the Lord your God.
- Pray, Lord, help me to be one who lives an upright and pleasing life before You, one who is sensitive and reflexively obedient to Your voice and promptings. Help me to live in an ongoing state of purification, humility and with a roaring desire to know You more.
- Declare, the Lord is moving us from the wilderness to a season of launching. The Lord is resurrecting many dead dreams, prayers and desires and bringing them into transformed vibrant life. The Lord is also causing a great acceleration for seeds that are being planted now. This is a season of the reaper overtaking the sower.
- Decree, I will be found with a pure heart and clean hands. I will be sensitive to and obey the voice and promptings of the Lord. I will not fear the launching. I will cling to the Lord God Most High on the mountaintop, just as I have done in the wilderness. I shall not fear.
