Today’s Reading:
Jeremiah 31
31 “At that time,” declares the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.”
Jeremiah 31:1-6
2 Thus says the Lord,
“The people who survived the sword
Found grace in the wilderness—
Israel, when it went to find its rest.”
3 The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.
4 “Again I will build you and you will be rebuilt,
O virgin of Israel!
Again you will take up your tambourines,
And go forth to the dances of the merrymakers.
5 “Again you will plant vineyards
On the hills of Samaria;
The planters will plant
And will enjoy them.
6 “For there will be a day when watchmen
On the hills of Ephraim call out,
‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion,
To the Lord our God.’”
The Spirit of the Lord says,
My glory will overcome. We are in days of overcoming. We are in days of overthrowing, usurping and overturning. These are days of great overcoming. These are days of the captives being freed, of the prisoners overwhelming and overthrowing the guards and the gatekeepers and tearing down the high walls that have blocked you all from freedom and wide-open spacious living. The prison bar doors have been opened and the moment you are in is the pandemonium inside the prison. The doors to the prison have not yet been breached; and the walls to freedom have not yet come down.
10 Hear the word of the Lord, O nations,
Jeremiah 31:10-11
And declare in the coastlands afar off,
And say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him
And keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.”
11 For the Lord has ransomed Jacob
And redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.
I Am the God who overcomes. I Am the God who usurps. I Am the God who pulls the rug out from under the feet of the enemy; and I Am the God who causes every trick and wicked scheme of the enemy to come back on his own head. This time is like a furious jail break, and My people will be set free. You can experience perfect all-covering peace in this time. Though there is rancor and chaos all around, you can experience and live in perfect peace. Call on My Spirit to come and blanket you with perfect peace. Though you are one being held captive, though you are part of the struggle, you can live and exist in perfect peace.
16 Thus says the Lord,
Jeremiah 31:16-17
“Restrain your voice from weeping
And your eyes from tears;
For your work will be rewarded,” declares the Lord,
“And they will return from the land of the enemy.
17 “There is hope for your future,” declares the Lord,
“And your children will return to their own territory.
Lift up your heart. Lift up your song. Lift up your eyes to your Creator and Father. You will, with My help, overcome. March to the drumbeat of My Spirit. You can dance and laugh in midst of the rancor too. There is glee in every level of freedom achieved. There is reason for celebration before full freedom is achieved. Celebrate the wins at every level. Keep your heart postured for worship, expectancy and victory. Hold your head high. We are pushing through to victory. We are pushing through to freedom.
How to Respond
- Choose to live with a buoyant heart of worship, joy and the expectancy of victory.
- Be one who sings, laughs and celebrates along the way.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Help me to see Your Hand moving us along to freedom. Thank You that You are indeed now breaking us free from the cells that have bound us, the prison that has held us captive and the walls that have kept us from even seeing freedom. Thank You that You are with us and You are for us. Thank You that Your perfect all encompassing peace is available to us. You are so good Lord.
- Declare, the Lord is partnering with us, empowering us and enabling us to overcome and overthrow all that has held us captive and imprisoned instead of living an abundant and free life.
- Decree, I am one who is overthrowing and overcoming, and will be set completely free from every chain and every wall that is confining my spirit and making my life small. I am part of a company of people and a nation who will be set free.
