Today’s Reading:
John 14
“Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too. And from now on you will realize that you have seen him and experienced him.””
John 14:6-7 TPT
The Spirit of the Lord says,
I’m near, even when you are remote. Wherever you are, I Am with you. Just call on Me. I Am with you. You may wander far. You may be on assignments that seem to take you far, but I Am right here with you. I Am ever near. I Am ever present. I Am always right here with you. I will take you the distance. The road you are on may seem long. It may seem remote. It is the road less traveled. It is the narrow way. It may feel confining at times, but I Am with you. Confinement is a state of mind. The truth is you are not confined, you live in freedom. The narrow road, the narrow way gives you extraordinary freedom that you could not have on the wide path, on the easy way. The narrow path is for your victory. The narrow path is THE way.
““Loving me empowers you to obey my commands. And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like me—and he will never leave you. The world won’t receive him because they can’t see him or know him. But you know him intimately because he remains with you and will live inside you.”
John 14:15-17 TPT
The wide path appears to have more space, more freedom, more choice. But in reality, it is a lot of dead and empty, lonely space. The narrow way is communal. The narrow way is relational. The narrow way is vibrant and teeming with life and opportunity. The narrow way is filled with brilliant color, and your heart and soul can soar freely here. You are covered by My grace on the narrow way. You are hemmed in by My lavish love on the narrow way. Of course My love is available on the broad path. My love is with you on the broad path and wherever you go, but the narrow path allows you to sense the nearness of Me, where the broad path actually crowds Me with noise and chaos, with wishy washy mindsets. The narrow way is the heart that has chosen. The narrow way is the man or woman who has decided to pick up his cross, pick up her cross and follow Me — come what may.
“Jesus replied, “Loving me empowers you to obey my word. And my Father will love you so deeply that we will come to you and make you our dwelling place. But those who don’t love me will not obey my words. The Father did not send me to speak my own revelation, but the words of my Father.”
John 14:23-24 TPT
The narrow way is the only way for a true believer. The narrow way is the only way for one who has chosen Me. Freedom from sin is here. Freedom from your past is here. Freedom from fear of the future is here. It can all only be found on the narrow way. It can all only be found in Me. I Am the way, the truth and the life. I Am the door and the key. I Am Jesus, the eternal one who gave My life to set you free. Come on the narrow way. Come and choose Me for life. Come and choose Me for good. Come and join the adventurous ones who never need to live in fear, anxiety or chaos. This is the glorious place. The narrow way is the glorious way. It is the glorious place. It is the place where My glory dwells. Come. Come. Come. You are invited, won’t you come?
How to Respond
- If you have never chosen to give the reigns of your life over to Jesus, do it today. If you have managed over time to take the reins back from Him, give them back today.
- Pray, Lord Jesus, thank You for Your love. Thank You for coming to Earth from Heaven to show me how to live and to be the perfect and only acceptable sacrifice for my sins. You are the only one who can make me right with God. I don’t want to keep living on the broad path. I want to live in connection with You and in the freedom that You offer. I give my life to You. I give my rights to You. I believe that You are the sinless Son of God who takes away my sins and makes me brand new again. Do that for me Lord. I want to follow You. I want You to be the Lord of my life who leads me on the glorious narrow path of victory. Thank You for Your gift of salvation Jesus, I accept it for myself.
- Declare, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one can get to the Father except through Him. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. There is no one like Him. What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer!
- Decree, I love the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. I live in the freedom He has paid for me to have through His death and resurrection. I will live boldly in obedience to His voice. I am among the adventurers who have chosen Jesus, who have chosen to live wrapped in His love and covered by His grace on the glorious narrow path of victory.
