Isaiah 49
Psalm 82
8 Thus says the Lord,
Isaiah 49:8-10
“In a favorable time I have answered You,
And in a day of salvation I have helped You;
And I will keep You and give You for a covenant of the people,
To restore the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages;
9 Saying to those who are bound, ‘Go forth,’
To those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves.’
Along the roads they will feed,
And their pasture will be on all bare heights.
10 “They will not hunger or thirst,
Nor will the scorching heat or sun strike them down;
For He who has compassion on them will lead them
And will guide them to springs of water.
The Lord says,
This is a time of open and shut cases, a time of the books being closed on a season of of death, dismemberment and destruction. Books of death are closing, and books of life are opening. As I open this book of life, life itself springs from the pages. This book of life is being opened to reanimate the dry and the walking dead. It is here to breathe the fresh breath of life and to resurrect the hearts of many. This book of life is being opened and will cause dreams, desires, longings and hopes to come to vibrant, energetic life. This is a time and a day of a book of death being closed and a book of life being opened.
82 God takes His stand in His own congregation;
Psalm 82:1-4
He judges in the midst of the rulers.
2 How long will you judge unjustly
And show partiality to the wicked? Selah.
3 Vindicate the weak and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.
4 Rescue the weak and needy;
Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.
Choose life. Celebrate life. Be on the side of life, and allow the supernatural Book of Life to revive you, to reinvigorate your imagination, to fill your heart with hope and wonder, and to carry fulfilled promises and dreams effortlessly into your life. As a Book of Death closes, so too does the power it wielded and the access it had to destroy many lives.
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child
Isaiah 49:15
And have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
As this Book of Life opens, it overcomes darkness, brings new life, resurrects broken hearts, lives and dreams. It has the transformative life-giving power that you have only seen in part and known in part. But now, as the Book of Life is opened, you will see this transformative, life-giving, supernatural power and grace come flooding out onto the scene. The closing of this Book of Death, and the opening of this Book of Life will usher in great grace, healing and justice. It will breathe on seared, blackened hearts and restore them to flesh, restore them to life. It will blow like a breeze over minds in decay, and it will cause them to be young, alive, new and open again. It will restore people, families and communities.
20 “The children of whom you were bereaved will yet say in your ears,
Isaiah 49:20-21
‘The place is too cramped for me;
Make room for me that I may live here.’
21 “Then you will say in your heart,
‘Who has begotten these for me,
Since I have been bereaved of my children
And am barren, an exile and a wanderer?
And who has reared these?
Behold, I was left alone;
From where did these come?’”
This Book of Death that has been allowed to reign and wreak chaos is being shut; and its access to the people is being shut off along with it. The opening of this Book of Life is causing glorious, unimaginable, beautiful and wonderful life to be breathed and to blow into entire beings, into hearts, eyes, ears, minds and lives. This Book of Life is single-handedly restoring dreams and causing them to come true.
49 Listen to Me, O islands,
Isaiah 49:1
And pay attention, you peoples from afar.
The Lord called Me from the womb;
From the body of My mother He named Me.
As Moses told the Israelites, consider this day what you will choose — life or death, a blessing or a curse. Today the choice for the book that brought so many curses is being unchosen, rejected. It is being closed. The righteous desire of the people is being met and fulfilled with the choosing and the opening of this great and wonderful Book of Life.
How to Respond
- Bless the Lord for His faithfulness, His patience and His kindness toward us.
- Press in in prayer for the overturning of Roe vs. Wade. Though it is only one step toward ending abortion in the U.S., it is a major step. Pray for state legislatures to do their part as well.
- Declare, the Lord is love, and He is the very air I breathe. Nothing is possible without Him. I honor and worship the Lord God Most High, and I have been rescued by the precious and unmatched blood of Jesus. I will not take life for granted, because He has made it.
- Decree, Roe vs. Wade is being overturned, and the Book of Death it opened in America, is being closed as a result. In its place, the Lord is opening up a Book of Life, of blessing, resurrection, grace and joy. America has again chosen life over death.
