Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 28
14 Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, O scoffers,
Isaiah 28:14-16
Who rule this people who are in Jerusalem,
15 Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death,
And with Sheol we have made a pact.
The overwhelming scourge will not reach us when it passes by,
For we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.”
16 Therefore thus says the Lord God,
“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone,
A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed.
He who believes in it will not be disturbed.
The Spirit of the Lord says,
Truth must cover the land — every nook and cranny. Carpet bombs of truth are incoming. They are offensive bombings. Carpet bombs of truth will saturate the land, leaving nothing untouched, and all will stand in stunned silence for a moment. The truth will stun them, will shock them, will render the world speechless. Hearts will be gripped with confusion. The wheels of people’s minds will be unable to process the stunning revelations brought forward in such a powerful and undeniable way. Their minds will say back to them, “cannot compute.”
17 “I will make justice the measuring line
Isaiah 28:17-19
And righteousness the level;
Then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies
And the waters will overflow the secret place.
18 “Your covenant with death will be canceled,
And your pact with Sheol will not stand;
When the overwhelming scourge passes through,
Then you become its trampling place.
19 “As often as it passes through, it will seize you;
For morning after morning it will pass through, anytime during the day or night,
And it will be sheer terror to understand what it means.”
Truth has left the station. She has left the ground. She is loaded up and being carried in flight for detonation. She will be carried to great heights, and when she is over the target, the pilots will drop her for a direct hit with maximum impact. Only those who know the Truth, the True One and have been seeking the Truth will be shielded from the impact. All others will find themselves facing the full force of the blast. Hearts will falter and not all will remain standing as the truth sweeps the land. Grown men will weep like babies, terrified at what the revelation of this truth will mean for their bloodied hands.
21 For the Lord will rise up as at Mount Perazim,
Isaiah 28:21-22
He will be stirred up as in the valley of Gibeon,
To do His task, His unusual task,
And to work His work, His extraordinary work.
22 And now do not carry on as scoffers,
Or your fetters will be made stronger;
For I have heard from the Lord God of hosts
Of decisive destruction on all the earth.
Justice will be running swiftly behind the detonation of this carpet bombing of truth. Justice will be dancing and bobbing and weaving like Rocky Balboa — ready for the fight. Justice is coming in like an old champion fighter who is making a surprise return to the ring. Unbeknownst to anyone, he has been training in secret, in the darkness, out of the limelight. And he is ready for the fight bell to ring.
Justice may come in and be mocked like a has been. But justice will show the world that what has been will be again — all to the glory of the Lord God Almighty. Justice will deal staggering blows, and will deliver the knockout punch in many fights. Justice has the heart of a warrior who cannot stay away from the fight. Justice is standing just outside the arena now, waiting for his signal to get into the ring. He’s more than ready for the fight. Truth is clearing the way.
How to Respond
- Check your heart with the Lord. Make sure you are on the side of truth. The Lord desires truth in the innermost parts.
- Pray, Lord, show me if there is any impure, untrue ways or beliefs within me. Help me to clear those out, purge them and replace them with what you say is true. You’re truth, and there is no false way in you. Lord, thank You for planning to bring truth in a powerful, undeniable way that leaves nothing and no one untouched. We need the truth. Thank You that You have been preparing justice in private, in the darkness, and that justice is ready for the fight. Thank You that justice will prevail because You are with us and for us.
- Declare, truth will be detonated like a carpet bomb, and truth will leave nothing and no one untouched by its magnitude and force. Justice is ready for the fight, and justice will prevail.
- Decree, I stand on the side of truth and justice. Truth and justice will once again mark America, and many nations of the world. The Lord is bringing truth and justice for the people and for His Name’s sake.
