Today’s Reading:
Psalm 37

Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on his faithfulness. Find your delight and true pleasure in Yahweh, and he will give you what you desire the most.

Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I heard the Spirit of the Living God who rules and reigns forever say,
I’m testing your heart — to see if you’re ready, to make you ready for the dawning of the new day that is here. We have moved to a totally new time, yet many remain unaware. Many cannot perceive the difference in the time we are now. Change is here. A different day is here. A new path forward and even a whole new atmosphere has blown in among you. Trust in Me as you walk forward. It looks like one small step in the dark after another, but I Am drawing you forward. I Am drawing you out into the light of the new day, out of the darkness and the hiddenness of the cocoon, out of the place of growth and protected change. And I Am drawing you out into the marvelous, blindingly glorious light of My New Day. All looks different here.

Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly! He will appear as your righteousness, as sure as the dawning of a new day. He will manifest as your justice, as sure and strong as the noonday sun. Quiet your heart in his presence and wait patiently for Yahweh. And don’t think for a moment that the wicked, in their prosperity, are better off than you.

Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭TPT‬‬

You feel in your heart that you have lost so much in that last season, that as you walk forward you are leaving behind so much. But I ask you to look again. The refining of that secret and hidden time, that time where you were covered in darkness in the hidden place — that refining has burned off attitude, entitlement, pride. It has a burned off views and arrogant movements in your heart. It feels like you have lost so much, because you have. But this shedding is what enables you to have the lightness to fly. This shedding was removing only the unnecessary, only the familiar that clung to you in an unhealthy way. All of that refining, all of that burning, all of that purifying has lightened your load, so you can spread your wings and fly.

If you look back at the period of darkness we have come through, can you really yearn for anything that has been left behind? What you long for is the familiar. What you long for is the secure. But I have caused you to drop those as well, because we are not those whose lives are marked by familiarity. I have called you to be a great warrior whose life is marked by adventure, by conquering new territory and taking new ground. Some things will remain familiar — skills you have wrought, lessons you have learned, people you hold dear. But behold I make all things new. Even those things which are acceptable to be familiar I will cause My rain of refreshing to fall upon, and they too will be made new.

So don’t be impatient for Yahweh to act; keep moving forward steadily in his ways, and he will exalt you to possess the land. You’ll watch with your own eyes and see the wicked lose everything.

Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭34‬ ‭TPT‬‬

You are in the last steps of this dark tunnel moving into the New Day that has already appeared. Don’t hesitate to move forward. Don’t be blinded or paralyzed by the stark contrast to your current circumstances when you are hit by My glorious light. This is the place of My Purpose. This is the day of My Destiny. Keep walking forward. It’s only a few more steps until you emerge and are bathed in the brilliance of My glorious light.

How to Respond

  • Obey the Lord. Keep moving forward. Don’t cling to anything the Lord has called you to hold loosely or drop and leave behind.
  • Pray, Lord thank You that this long, dark period of growth, purification and refining has not been for nothing. Thank You that the pressure of this place has a purpose and an endpoint. Help me to remain faithful, so I can emerge from here into Your New Day of purpose and destiny that has already dawned.
  • Declare, the steps of the God-pursuing ones follow firmly in the footsteps of the Lord, and God delights in every step we take to follow Him. – Psalm 37:23
  • Decree, I will keep moving forward in obedience to the Lord, even though I cannot see where He is taking me. I will not have to be dragged forward into this New Day. I will walk forward with expectation, and the full joy of the Lord will be my strength.
