Today’s Reading:
Deuteronomy 7-8
Judges 5

6 “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. 7 The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; 8 but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Deuteronomy 7:6-8 NKJV

The Spirit of the Lord says,
You are My treasure and My reward. Your beauty comes from within, though I have made you beautiful on the outside too. You have purified yourself. You have submitted to cleansing, to purification, to deep, sometimes painful personal cleansing. And now beauty flows out of you like a wild and luscious meadow, like a delightful flower garden, like an enchanting melody. You can now pour out health, life and vibrancy. You can pour out love in purity. You can pour out care and support without bitterness, hurt, wounds or jealousy tainting the offering. The fire has purified you. The sandy blasting winds of the wilderness have chipped away at the rough edges inside of you. They have softened your edges and even removed the calcified wall of fortification around your heart. Now your heart is accessible. Now your love is reachable. Now your gift and your offer to help, to support, to love is pure.

2 And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. 3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. 4 Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. 5 You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.6 “Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. 7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; 8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; 9 a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. 10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.

Deuteronomy 8:2-10

I told you in advance that there would be heat, there would be tumbling, there would be smoothing, and it would feel like a very dry place. You have walked that road. You have withstood. You have persevered, and now just look at you. You are sparkling. You are radiant. You are pure. You reflect the Son. You reflect the Son. Now it is time to move on to the good deeds that I have waiting for you — for this version of you — that only you can do. It’s time to march on to purpose, to change, to saying yes to things though they may scare you. It’s time to march on and be boldly and unapologetically you, purely truly you as you were made to be — the you who was chiseled out and rediscovered in the desert place.

O my soul, march on in strength!

Judges 5:21b NJKV

It’s time to walk forward with all grace and in full beauty to destiny, to purpose, to the work that animates and lights up your true identity. It’s time to march on. My heart is with you, and My heart has gone before you. Wait till you see what amazing and surprising astonishgly good things I have for you there. March on My dear one. March on.

How to Respond

  • Pray, Lord, thank You for the wilderness, for the desert place of cleansing, purification and softening rough edges. Thank You for accomplishing Your purpose in me in that place, and thank You for leading me out now. Give me wisdom and revelation on how to move forward and in what direction. I love You Lord.
  • Declare, the Lord is calling His lovers out of the wilderness into new purpose.
  • Decree, I will not tarry in the wilderness. I will walk out with the Lord toward purpose and destiny in full confidence that He is with me, and He has gone before me. He has prepared good works for me in advance. He is the light of my life, and He lights my path.
