Today’s Reading:
Luke 5
2 Corinthians 1
Hebrews 11
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and he is the one whom Timothy, Silas, and I have preached to you—and he has never been both a “yes” and a “no.” He has always been and always will be for us a resounding “YES!” For all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in him. And as his “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring him glory!
2 Corinthians 1:19-20 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God in whom there is no shifting shadow say,
Try Me. Test Me. Will I not do what I have said? Are not all of My promises yes and amen? Then why do you doubt? Do you not think that I Am good? The enemy has brought a delusion along with delay. The delusion is that all of My promises are for the distant future. It’s that carrot far out in front of the horse that he never reaches and can never quite taste. I Am not that way. I Am the God of the here and now, just as I Am the God of the past and the future. Have I not taken care of you? Will I not do it again?
Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. This testimony of faith is what previous generations were commended for.
Hebrews 11:1-2 TPT
Now is the time to pull that which seems distant, that which seems far off, that which seems unattainable and ever illusive — pull it into your now just as Peter, James and John pulled the miraculous catch into their boat. It was more than they could handle alone. What’s the key here? The key is obedience. The key is having faith the size of a mustard seed. The key is not allowing the long night of working with no reward, of toiling with no return, of casting your net out and having it come up empty — do not let that reality mark your future. Have you not been fishing before? Don’t you know that every cast holds a different fate? This is the time where obedience is required. Fresh faith in Me and forgetting what behind is required, because I desire to fill your boat to the overflow. But you must, I repeat — you must listen to Me, obey Me and forget what has happened in the past, even the immediate past that is still so painfully evident because of the empty nets in your hands.
Jesus climbed into the boat belonging to Simon Peter and said to him, “Let me use your boat. Push it off a short distance away from the shore so I can speak to the crowd.” Jesus sat down and taught the people from the boat. When he had finished, he said to Peter, “Now row out to deep water to cast your nets and you will have a great catch.” “Master,” Peter replied, “we’ve just come back from fishing all night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you insist, we’ll go out again and let down our nets because of your word.” When they pulled up their nets, they were shocked to see a huge catch of fish, and their nets were ready to burst!
Luke 5:3-6 TPT
I will instruct you where to cast your net. I will instruct you, and you must obey. You will pull up a greater blessing, a greater answer, a greater, more plentiful outcome than you could have ever dreamt. And it will make up for the all of the empty casts before it. It will make up for all of the sweat and effort and even breakdowns of your will and tools before it. Leave the past behind. Today is a new day. Today is a day that calls for fresh faith, for quick and total obedience. Get your nets ready. Prepare for a big catch.
How to Respond
- Trust the Lord and push every thought and voice out that does not agree with the promises the Lord has spoken over your life.
- Pray, Holy Spirit strengthen me. Help me leave behind the past and the lingering feelings of coming up empty time after time. Thank You that this is the day of Your favor. This is the day that You have ordained as a blessing and a day in which You display Your miracle working power. Help me to position my heart and mind, my hands and tools to receive.
- Declare, How enriched are they who find their strength in the Lord; within their hearts are the highways of holiness! Even when their paths wind through the dark valley of tears, they dig deep to find a pleasant pool where others find only pain. He gives to them a brook of blessing filled from the rain of an outpouring. They grow stronger and stronger with every step forward, and the God of all gods will appear before them in Zion. — Psalms 84:5-7 TPT
- Decree, all of the Lord’s promises are yes and amen. The delay and lack of the past is not my current reality, nor will it determine my future. My portion is a miraculous catch so big that it will require friends and family to help me bring it to shore. I will not shrink back in fear because of the assignment that comes with the miracle. I will obediently follow Jesus.
