Today’s Reading:
John 14
“Jesus replied, “Loving me empowers you to obey my word. And my Father will love you so deeply that we will come to you and make you our dwelling place. But those who don’t love me will not obey my words. The Father did not send me to speak my own revelation, but the words of my Father. I am telling you this while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like me who sets you free, he will teach you all things in my name. And he will inspire you to remember every word that I’ve told you.”

My wisdom is for this age. My wisdom is for this day. Do you think the enemy can outsmart Me, outwit Me, outmaneuver Me? It sounds ridiculous when you say it out loud, but your heart has believed it. Your soul has agreed with it. No, I will best the enemy. Trust in Me to guide you, to lead you, to show you and to put the words in your mouth at the right time. Walk by faith and not by sight. Walk and live freely in the Spirit. This is the freedom I have called you to — freedom of heart, freedom of mind, freedom of conscience — freedom that comes with purity. Purity causes freedom to live, to thrive.
“So when all of these things happen, you will still trust and cling to me. I won’t speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this dark world is coming. But he has no power over me, for he has nothing to use against me. I am doing exactly what the Father destined for me to accomplish, so that the world will discover how much I love my Father. Now come with me.””

Purity gives no landing place, no room for the enemy, for evil, for unbelief. Purity of heart and mind brings great freedom. Purity allows you to say the words of Jesus in truth — satan has nothing in me. Don’t you want to live in that kind of solid, unquestionable strength of purity? It leads to life more abundant, because the weights of deceit and trickery, mocking and gossip are not weighing you down inside, causing turmoil, causing confusion, stirring up strife and causing you to stumble. Choose the pure way. Choose the straightforward, true way. Let no darkness permeate your life, your mind, your soul.
This is a season, a time that calls for and demands holiness, purity, truth. Let there be no mixture within you. Let there be no false way within you. Let there be no shifting shadows within you. Yours is to be the sound of a pure, clear bell — true and trustworthy. My grace is on you for purity. So shed those former ways. Shed those former affections. Shed those former reflexes, and live in truth, in love, in purity. This is the way for the new day.
How to Respond
- Ask the Lord to partner with you in examining your heart. Ask Him to show you any impure ways within you that need repentance and cleansing.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Search me and know me. Try my anxious thoughts. Test the motives of my heart. Only You can. Reveal to me any ways, any thoughts that are under the influence of a lie or wrong motive. I want to be pure in Your sight and live in Your ways.
- Declare, this is a time and season of purity and holiness.
- Decree, I will be one with a pure heart, clean hands and clean lips. I will be one who can ascend the hill of the Lord. I will be one who sits and glories in His Presence, who learns His ways and walks in them. I will be one who can say, satan has nothing in me. I am with the Lord, only the Lord.
