Today’s Reading:
Revelation 5
Revelation 7

4 Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the [e]book or to look into it; 5 and one of the elders *said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the [f]book and its seven seals.”

Revelation 5:4-5 NASB 1995

The Spirit of the Living God says,
Trust Me. Don’t just trust Me, but trust Me so deeply that the light of My love, My truth, My faithfulness, My joy shines forth from you. Let My Spirit light your countenance. Let My truth come out of you like rays of light, like beams of hope. Let Me shine forth from you. It’s your job to light the world. Light up the world with your love. Light up the world with My truth, the only truth, the real, steadfast, immovable, indestructible truth. Where the Spirit of the Lord reigns there is freedom.

7 And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. 8 When He had taken the [h]book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the [i]saints. 9 And they *sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are You to take the [j]book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
10
“You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

Revelation 5:7-10 NASB 1995

It’s my light inside of you that enables you to push back against the gates of hell. It’s my Spirit and My light inside of you that puts a bold fierceness and strength inside of you that puts the forces of hell on notice. It’s the light of your countenance because of My Spirit lighting you from the inside that beckons the little children to come to you, so they can experience love and gentleness and be taught of the Lord. I have equipped you with all you need to model the ways of Jesus. He is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and the Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world. I have empowered you with boldness, ferocity and a great authority and power to hold the line, to speak the truth, to protect the innocent and to make My Name known. And likewise I flow through you with the peace of a river, and I enable you to live a quiet, peaceable life, drawing little ones, broken ones, wandering ones into your orbit with the gentleness and comfort given by My Spirit and shown to you freely.

13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?” 14 I [a]said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His [b]temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.16 They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun [c]beat down on them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the [d]water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Revelation 7:13-17 NASB 1995

I Am not calling you to one or the other — to be lion or lamb. I’m calling you to both. My Spirit equips, enables and empowers you for both. If you are all lion, you have no restraint. If you are all lamb, you have no backbone. I’m calling you to practice and exhibit both. You are capable and made for the full range. My Spirit teaches you how to flow, how to shine, how to roar, how to comfort and how to minister. Yours is an all of the above calling to look, shine, behave and respond like your Savior and King Jesus. It’s not one or the other. It’s all of the above.

How to Respond

  • Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength. Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.
  • Delight in the Lord and let His light shine through you.
  • Trust the Lord to empower you with exactly what you need for every person and situation you face.
  • Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for living inside of me. Thank You for teaching me, instructing me and showing me how to live. Help me to hear your voice more clearly. Help me to shine more brightly, because I am tightly woven into You. Give me the wisdom and understanding to know how to position myself and how to lead and respond in every situation I find myself.
  • Declare, Great is the Lord and worthy of all glory, honor and praise. He has equipped me for every good work, which He has prepared for me in advance. He sets the path before me. He is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. His light shines through me, and I am becoming more like Him every day.
  • Decree, I will trust the Lord so deeply that the Spirit of the Lord radiates and bursts through me as brilliant light. I will follow the impulses of the Spirit and only do what I see and hear the Lord doing. I will trust and obey swiftly and completely. I will allow Holy Spirit to activate the parts of me that I have allowed to be more dormant — whether the lion-like qualities or those of the lamb. I want to be everything the Lord calls me to be. I want to be a beautiful, untarnished reflection of Him.
