Today’s Readings:
Psalm 27
Isaiah 40
There’s a private place reserved for the lovers of God, where they sit near him and receive the revelation-secrets of His promises.
Psalm 25:14
The Lord says,
I have called many of My warrior lovers out into the wilderness with Me. I have called them for this particular time, this particular season, and for My own very specific reasons. Many have not recognized that they are in this wilderness season because the terrain has been so unusual, the circumstances of the world surrounding them have been so unusual. This time has been so disorienting, that they haven’t even realized that I have drawn them out to the wilderness with Me. The disorientation, the confusion, the noise, these are distractions of the enemy. I am drawing you away from them. I am drawing you out deep into the wilderness, into a barren place, where we can get away from the noise together. Where you can hear My voice, discern the beat of My heart, and respond with sensitivity to My touch.
People speak of the wilderness as a punishment of sorts. This is not so. The wilderness is a place where I can get alone with My people – individually. Where they can commune with Me without distractions and outside noises. It’s a place of self-discipline, because you have to set a structure to your day, to your life in order to thrive in the wilderness, in order for your mind and your soul to operate well in the wilderness.
The wilderness is a place that teaches you about self control, about your authority, about ownership rather than reactivity. The wilderness is a place of self-possession. You learn who you are – at the essential core level without the accessories, the adornments the excess. This is a place where I can show you yourself. It’s a place of refining. A place of losing track of time in Me. It’s a place of self-sufficiency, not as the world knows it. But self-sufficiency in Me, planted and established, and partnered with Me.
The wilderness is a place of extremes, of uncertainty. When I draw you into this wilderness, you don’t know how long I will have you here or how far we will go. You don’t know when we’ll return to civilization or what you will look like when you get there. This is My process. This is a place for just you and Me. We will drink deeply of sweet waters from dry places. We will laugh heartily around the campfire. We will lay closely and snugly together and talk late into the night.
This is My sweet wilderness time. This is a time of growing up My young lions. This is a time of preparation for My Bride.
Don’t despair at the desert. Don’t frown upon this wilderness season. It is My chosen time with you. You will build new habits. You will drop old ones and not even realize it. I am tumbling off rough edges and threshing out unneeded ways of thinking, operating, speaking, etc. This is not a season of being disciplined. But it is a season of learning new discipline, of instituting discipline. Of becoming disciplined.
Come away with Me. I am calling you away, even deeper even further into the wilderness. For those who do, the reward is great. Because My reward is with Me. So if you’re with Me, you have My reward. It’s the light of revelation. It’s the joy that’s unfathomable and un-manufacturable. It’s the peace that passes all understanding. It’s communion with Me. It’s security in Me. It’s a feeling, a knowing of being anchored and rock solid, immovable in your position in Me. This is the reward for those who choose the fine tuning time in the wilderness with Me.
A Sweet Time & Glorious Day
The Lord says,
I Am drawing men and women, boys and girls to Myself. I Am drawing them to the light of truth, to My stability, to My unchanging love.
This is a day where I Am drawing many to Myself, and they will sit at My feet, and eagerly learn My ways. And it will be a beautiful time. They won’t take note of time. They will lose all track of time as they sit at My feet, as they plant My truths, My light and My love in their hearts, and as they drink deeply from the fountain of Me, of redemption, of restoration, of victory life.
It’s a sweet time and a Glorious Day.
It is going on undetected for now. But soon it will be visible. Soon it will be spoken of widely. This is a time of great hunger, a great longing for Me, for true discipleship and the purity of the Gospel. This move is one that will be built on deep, strong foundations and will not be easily shaken.
How to Respond
- Declare today the Glorious Day of many coming to the Lord, of many heeding His call.
- Answer His call to go out with Him into the wilderness, to lose track of time with Him, to fine tune your mindsets and habits, your disciplines.
- Sing your favorite song at top volume and just laugh at the enjoyment of it. Remember how to live with abandon.
- Ask the Lord to fine tune your hearing of His voice, your recognition of His Presence and His move.
