Isaiah 8
Isaiah 44
23 Shout for joy, O heavens, for the Lord has done it!
Isaiah 44:23-26
Shout joyfully, you lower parts of the earth;
Break forth into a shout of joy, you mountains,
O forest, and every tree in it;
For the Lord has redeemed Jacob
And in Israel He shows forth His glory.
24 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb,
“I, the Lord, am the maker of all things,
Stretching out the heavens by Myself
And spreading out the earth all alone,
25 Causing the omens of boasters to fail,
Making fools out of diviners,
Causing wise men to draw back
And turning their knowledge into foolishness,
26 Confirming the word of His servant
And performing the purpose of His messengers.
It is I who says of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be inhabited!’
And of the cities of Judah, ‘They shall be built.’
And I will raise up her ruins again.
The Lord says,
Signs of spring are all around. You can see them, hear them, smell them, touch them. New life is bursting forth all around you. What was dry and dead is now bursting with life, and more evidence is coming forth daily. The chickens are coming home to roost. The chickens are coming home to roost. They are orderly and so numerous, it is nearly impossible to count them. They know the way home. They are coming in great succession, flooding in. Yes indeed, this is the spring where the chickens come home to roost. What a mess it will be when they get there. As they arrive, one by one by one, the filth and the dirty habits and behaviors become more and more obvious. Nothing can stop these chickens from coming home to roost, and nothing can get them off course. It’s simply time.
13 Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life.
Isaiah 8:13
He is the one you should fear.
He is the one who should make you tremble.
For those watching the chickens marching home from a distance, there will be plenty of celebrations — for the true exposure, the true justice and the truth being made plain. For those close to the roosting nest, the mess and the dirt will get kicked up on them. The chickens may not be theirs, but they have shared in the wealth and they will share in the mess.
15 Many will stumble and fall,
Isaiah 8:15
never to rise again.
They will be snared and captured.”
For the owners of these chickens who are coming home to roost, their fate will be to live out their days confined in a cage with all of these chickens, all of these deeds — disgusting, criminal, slanderous and thieving deeds. Many chicken owners will be lined up, and they will reside in row after row after row of cages made for these chickens that came home to roost and exposed their owner. I Am sending these chickens out now. Like homing pigeons and like well-trained dogs, they will make it home to their owner and their destination without delay and without fail.
The rooster will crow, and betrayal will commence. It will be a bloodbath of friendly fire amongst those for whom the chickens are coming home to roost.
8 ‘Do not tremble and do not be afraid;
Isaiah 44:8
Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it?
And you are My witnesses.
Is there any God besides Me,
Or is there any other Rock?
I know of none.’”
The sand is running through the hourglass, and the time is almost up. Soon the true show will begin. You’ll want to be paying attention. You’ll want to be ready for the show. The show will be about resurrection. The show will be about the chickens coming home to roost for many. The show will be like a criminal investigation show — complete with exhumations and autopsies long after the fact. This is going to be an epic saga of a show — filled with many long and winding and intertwining stories. The show will feel so real, at times you will feel like you are at sea on a tiny ship in the middle of the storm. So hold on to me. Remember, you are watching the great revealing of an amazing show. The waves will not engulf you. The storm will not overtake you. You are watching the great show.
How to Respond
- Pray for those who are aligned with evil, that their hearts would turn to the Lord.
- Declare, justice will be served. All of the evil, criminal and vicious deeds will revisit their owner. That will not be stopped or delayed.
- Decree, The Lord has set justice in motion, and it is marching steadily now toward its targets. It will not miss a single mark, and it will not be delayed.
- Spend time in worship and keep your heart pure before the Lord.
- Determine that you will not rejoice in any tragedy that may befall ones aligned with evil. Choose instead to pray for their souls, celebrate the cause of justice being served, and celebrate room being made for the restoration of righteous rule.
