Today’s Reading:
Psalm 18
Psalm 118

“Yahweh, what a perfect God you are! All Yahweh’s promises have proven true. What a secure shelter for all those who turn to hide themselves in you, the wraparound God. Could there be any other god like Yahweh? For there is not a more secure foundation than you. God, you have wrapped me in power and made my way perfect. Through you I ascend to the highest peaks to stand strong and secure in you.”

Psalms‬ ‭18:30-33‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Spirit of the Living God says,
Trust Me. Trust Me when the path seems dimly lit. Trust Me when the only light to guide you is the light I have placed in your heart. The road ahead may seem dark. It may seem unfamiliar and uncertain, but I Am with you, guiding you along and pulling you through to a new day. This darkness will only last for a momentary space of time. I will bring you out of tough, uncertain terrain, out of this momentary, fleeting but very real dark season, and I will bring you into the meadows of wide open spacious life that you have been craving. Where you are now feels dark, feels uncertain, feels rather alone. It feels like you are walking through the dark woods at night with nothing but the light in your heart to guide you. Yet you know you will hear and have heard Me whisper in your ear, this is the way, walk in it.

“His love broke open the way, and he brought me into a beautiful, broad place. He rescued me—because his delight is in me! He rewarded me for doing what’s right and staying pure. I will follow his commands and I’ll not sin by ceasing to follow him, no matter what. For I’ve kept my eyes focused on his righteous words, and I’ve obeyed everything that he’s told me to do. I’ve been blameless before him and followed all his ways, keeping my heart pure. And so Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness, because I kept my heart clean before his eyes.”

Psalms‬ ‭18:19-24‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Don’t get too concerned with this season. The darkness is a concealing for you. The darkness is how I Am concealing you from the enemy as you build and organize and set the structures in place. The darkness serves a purpose, and the darkness is also fleeting. You will look back in wonder and awe at the days that I shrouded your building in darkness and hid you in obscurity that did not permit demonic attacks to come near you at this tender and vulnerable stage of building. But I will break through. I will bring you through to a broad place, to a place of brilliant light. I will bring you into fulfillment. I will bring you into the place for exploring and for setting down roots. I will bring you to a place where you do not feel hemmed in, where you feel extraordinary freedom that you’ve never known and of which could hardly bear to dream.

2 He has made My mouth like a sharp sword,
In the shadow of His hand He has concealed Me;
And He has also made Me a [b]select arrow,
He has hidden Me in His quiver.
3 He said to Me, “You are My Servant, Israel,
In Whom I will [c]show My glory.”
4 But I said, “I have toiled in vain,
I have spent My strength for nothing and vanity;
Yet surely the justice due to Me is with the Lord,
And My reward with My God.”
5
And now says the Lord, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant,
To bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel might be gathered to Him
(For I am honored in the sight of the Lord,
And My God is My strength),
6 He says, “It is too [d]small a thing that You should be My Servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel;
I will also make You a light [e]of the nations
So that My salvation may [f]reach to the end of the earth.”

Isaiah 49:2-6 NAAB 1995

The darkness is fleeting. The covering and the hiding season of obscurity is fleeting, and it is for great and determined purpose. Don’t despise these days of small beginnings. Don’t despise these long days of working and toiling in darkness. They will bear fruit. They will bear lucious fruit that feeds large families and then multiplies and feeds neighbors and communities, then regions and beyond. The long hours of sowing, building and early planting that you are doing in darkness with little to no support will bear fruit that multiplies and feeds many, many more than you could have fathomed. It will reach and feed those you have never known and will never meet.

How to Respond

  • Continue to be diligent and obedient in the work the Lord has called you do — especially if it is building.
  • Pray, Holy Spirit draw near to me. Help me to hear Your voice and instruction clearly. Help me to feel the touch of Your promptings and to act in quick obedience. Thank You for Your encouragement that this time of darkness and obscurity has a purpose, and You are using it as a great covering for building. I long for the brilliance of Your breakthrough, but until it comes I will be faithful in this period of building.
  • Declare, great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. His Name is the only Name that should be exalted in all the Earth. My God and King is the Master Architect and Master Builder. He is the Master Planner, and He will be faithful to see me through to the other side of this season of darkness. It is for my protection, covering and benefit.
  • Decree, I will be faithful in the building the Lord has called me to do. I will not shrink back or give up. I will push through and see it through until the Lord my God breaks through and brings me into the brilliant broad place, the glorious wide-open spacious place that has long been my heart’s desire.
