Genesis 30
James 1
For they mated when they came to the water troughs, and as they lowered their heads to drink, they saw the stripped branches in front of their eyes. Miraculously they gave birth to streaked, speckled, and spotted young. But with the mating ewes, on the other hand, he made them face the streaked or completely black animals in Laban’s flock. By doing this, he produced his own special flocks, which he didn’t allow to mingle with Laban’s.
Genesis 30:39-40 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Things are not as they seem. The enemy uses a veil of deception, and that is steadily being uncovered. I also use the veil of deception as a war tactic against the enemy. My veil covers what I Am really doing and makes it look other. It makes it look unthreatening to the plans of the enemy. It makes it look secular and unopposing to his plans. Don’t be surprised or offended or confused when I bring gifts and fulfillment in your life that looks to the world like you have are going off the reservation of My plan. I Am covering My good and perfect gifts with a veil that deceives the enemy to protect you. You can see the inside. You can see through the veil. Don’t feel the need to explain what is under the veil. I have put it there to protect you from enemy interest and scrutiny.
So my friends, don’t be fooled by your own desires! Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change. God was delighted to give us birth by the truth of his infallible Word so that we would fulfill his chosen destiny for us and become the favorite ones out of all his creation!

Strange things are going to take place in your life. Things that confuse those who know you. But you will be steady, sure and unmoved. To the religious and to those who have eyes that cannot see, some of the things I Am doing in your life and bringing into your life will seem as if you have missed the mark, you have lost discernment, you have run amok. But you are following the impulses of My Spirit. And what I Am bringing will deceive the religious and the enemy alike. The religious will criticize and speak against it. Those who can’t see will approach you with concern from a good heart. And the enemy will laugh and be unbothered.
Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let his Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life! If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin. But those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by it—they experience God’s blessing in all that they do!
James (Jacob) 1:22-25 TPT
What I Am bringing in to your life will deceive onlookers. But those close to My heart will see the difference. They will see what lies beneath the veil, and their hearts will rejoice for you. Don’t concern yourself with how things look, sound or appear. I Am bringing the opposite of a Trojan horse into your life. It is a beautiful gift masked as something quite worldly, to throw the enemy off your scent. It is sneaky. It is unreligious, and it will bring you great delight. Don’t tire yourself or undo My shielding by breathing explanations for those who cannot see it. Just walk with Me. You’ll see who remains.
How to Respond
- Draw closer to the Lord. Keep your discernment sharp, and move only by the impulses of Holy Spirit.
- Pray, Lord, help me to not be quick to judge opportunities, situations and people that You bring into my life. Help me to be so in tune with Your Spirit that I can perceive what is from You — even if it is masked in seemingly worldly, unusual packaging. Help me to not live in the fear of what others think, and help me to reject responding in a religious spirit about any gift that You bring. Thank You that You are bringing good and perfect gifts into my life that are shielded from the prying eyes and schemes of the enemy.
- Declare, every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Heavenly Lights. — James 1:17
- Decree, I will wait upon the Lord. I will not judge His gifts if they do not align with my expectations or the expectations of others. I will be moved by the Spirit and delight in the good, unusually packaged things the Lord brings into my life.
