Today’s Reading:
Psalm 46
Jeremiah 30

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He raised His voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.
8
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has wrought desolations in the earth.
9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariots with fire.

Psalm 46:4-9

The Spirit of the Lord says,
Mercy rivers running. Grace rivers flowing. Springs of My love bubbling, refreshing all those who stop for a drink. My mercy rivers are brimming, and they will soon breach their shores. Then you will have floods of mercy covering the land. My mercy is for the children and the broken, the downcast and the down trodden. My mercy is a double-edged sword with relief and comfort, rescue and protection on one side, with vengeance and righteous judgement on the other. My day of mercy will also be My day of vengeance.

18 “Thus says the Lord,
‘Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob
And have compassion on his dwelling places;
And the city will be rebuilt on its ruin,
And the palace will stand on its rightful place.
19 ‘From them will proceed thanksgiving
And the voice of those who celebrate;
And I will multiply them and they will not be diminished;
I will also honor them and they will not be insignificant.
20 ‘Their children also will be as formerly,
And their congregation shall be established before Me;
And I will punish all their oppressors.

Jeremiah 30:18-20

As My mercy river overflows the banks and floods the land, it will look to some like comfort, rescue, a great shielding and protection, and in the eyes of others and even from just another perspective, it will look like a great onslaught against ones who have been operating in evil and witchcraft, ones who have been committing atrocities and whose lives and homes and accounts are filled with lies and dishonor, theft and death. My day of mercy and My day of vengeance are the same day. They are the same day.

7 ‘Alas! for that day is great,
There is none like it;
And it is the time of Jacob’s distress,
But he will be saved from it.
8
‘It shall come about on that day,’ declares the Lord of hosts, ‘that I will break his yoke from off their neck and will tear off their bonds; and strangers will no longer make them their slaves. 9 But they shall serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.
10
‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant,’ declares the Lord,
‘And do not be dismayed, O Israel;
For behold, I will save you from afar
And your offspring from the land of their captivity.
And Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease,
And no one will make him afraid.

Jeremiah 30:7-10

Rejoice because the wicked will reign no longer. Rejoice, because I Am breaking the chains, opening the prison bars and setting the captives free. Rejoice, for the great and terrible day of the Lord is near. The great and glorious day of the Lord is here. The day of celebration and the day of plundering the enemy, the oppressor and the task master is here. Rejoice because the little ones will be free, the bruised and broken will be set free, the hidden ones will come into light and the orphaned will walk into family and freedom. Rejoice, because the day of mercy and judgement is nigh, the day of freedom and justice is nigh, the day of power from on high is nigh. Behold the great and terrible day of the Lord is nigh. Rejoice. Rejoice. I’m seating the captives free.

How to Respond

  • Rejoice and pray for the Lord’s perfect mercy and justice to be done in America and the nations of the world. Keep yourself pure before the Lord.
  • Pray, Lord, thank You that You see us. You see the hurting, the broken, the abused and mistreated. You see the injustice, manipulation and theft. Lord, bring Your perfect mercy and judgement to us. Set us free.
  • Declare, the Lord’s mercy and His judgement are two sides of the same sword. The Lord is perfect in all His ways and His mercy and justice are dealt in perfect measure. The Lord sees the hurting, oppressed, abused, maligned, bruised and broken.
  • Decree, the Lord’s mercy and judgement will be executed in perfect measure. The great and terrible day of the Lord is coming on a rescue and judgement mission. The captives will be set free, and the wicked will be laid bare. Holy is the Lord and holy is His Word.
