Today’s Reading:
2 Corinthians 9

7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; 9 as it is written,
“He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor,
His righteousness endures forever.”
10
Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.

2 Corinthians 9:7-11

The Spirit of the Lord says,
My grace is flowing like a rushing rapid river. It’s flowing, and it is unpredictable like white water rapids. My grace may throw some out of the raft in which they have been securely traveling, and it will immerse them completely in My wild stream of grace. I will be the one who propels them forward; and they will feel My grace rushing around them and keeping them afloat. These are days of My unpredictable grace coming to stir things up, to toss people unexpectedly into change, into the river, into the rapidly flowing waters of My grace.

Grace and change go hand in hand. They are close partners, and they work seamlessly together. My rapidly running, choppy river of grace is flowing fast. Some will retain their positions and stay in their rafts. Some will flex and just be splashed and soaked in My grace as they remain in their raft. Some will change seats. Others will remain steadfast despite the bumps and the unexpected turns and rapids. But some will be tossed out of their rafts completely and will learn and experience the fullness of My grace. As they are immersed, as they ride the current of My grace, the feeling of My grace surrounding them will fill them with delight. They will come to know and understand My grace more intimately in this time.

12 For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.13 Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all, 14 while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

2 Corinthians 9:12-15

This is the season of the spring rapids, and I Am tossing some out of the comfort of their rafts into the rushing waters of My grace to experience freedom, to experience trust, to experience life in a fresh and new and unexpected but truly delightful way. Those who panic and flail will uselessly expend a lot of energy. The true, right response to being thrown out of the raft is to hold onto your life vest (Me, hello), position yourself into the current of My river of grace, and float. I will carry you. My grace will carry you, and you will experience life and change in a way that you could have never previously fathomed. It will 10X your faith. It will 10X your trust. It will 10X your steadfast immovable belief that I Am who I say I Am, and I will do what I said I will do. This wild ride of raft-free faith, floating in the rapidly moving current of My grace is a picture of the unpredictable life of adventure in the Spirit. My grace will lift you, will carry you and will move you safely and freely forward. My grace is here, and the grace river rapids are running.

How to Respond

  • Ask the Lord to show you where you are right now in this picture of white water rafting. Are you in the raft? Are you supposed to be? Are you in the correct seat in the raft? Is He asking you to jump or lean and fall out of the raft to be completely immersed in His grace?
  • Pray, Holy Spirit, I surrender myself and my life to You. Your grace is more than sufficient for the change You are calling me into — whether it is internal or external change, or both. Help me to be obedient to Your call, Your voice, Your instruction so that I can fully experience the freedom that comes from surrendering to Your grace.
  • Declare, the Lord’s river of rapidly moving grace is here, and it is stirring up different levels of change for all who are willing to embark on it.
  • Decree, I submit myself to the Lord. I submit my life and will to His hands, His voice and His rapid river of grace. I will obey His voice and make my way down His river of grace in accordance with His instruction. I am ready and positioned for adventure on the Lord’s river of grace — whatever that may look like.
