Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 10
Isaiah 28

“Therefore when the Lord has completed all His work [of chastisement and purification to be executed] on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, it shall be that He will inflict punishment on the fruit [the thoughts, words, and deeds] of the stout and arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the haughtiness of his pride. For [the Assyrian king] has said, I have done it solely by the power of my own hand and wisdom, for I have insight and understanding. I have removed the boundaries of the peoples and have robbed their treasures; and like a bull I have brought down those who sat on thrones and the inhabitants. And my hand has found like a nest the wealth of the people; and as one gathers eggs that are forsaken, so I have gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved its wing, or that opened its mouth or chirped. Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Or shall the saw magnify itself against him who wields it back and forth? As if a rod should wield those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift itself up as if it were not wood [but a man of God]! Therefore will the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send leanness among [the Assyrian’s] fat ones; and instead of his glory or under it He will kindle a burning like the burning of fire. And the Light of Israel shall become a fire and His Holy One a flame, and it will burn and devour [the Assyrian’s] thorns and briers in one day. [II Kings 19:35-37; Isa. 31:8-9; 37:36.] [The Lord] will consume the glory of the [Assyrian’s] forest and of his fruitful field, both soul and body; and it shall be as when a sick man pines away or a standard-bearer faints. And the remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, so that a child may make a list of them. And it shall be in that day that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more lean upon him who smote them, but will lean upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.”

Isaiah‬ ‭10:12-20‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The Spirit of the Living God says,
We are setting off on a new track. It’s a new journey for a new day. Dark clouds are gathering overhead, but we must keep going. We are walking into the storm, purposefully — not by accident and not by poor planning. We are walking equipped into the storm just ahead. I have equipped you with everything you need. Some tools I’ve given you, you’re not sure why you have them, why you are carrying them or what relevance they have. You will be surprised how they come in handy during the days of walking through the storm.

“Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem! Because you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol (the place of the dead) we have an agreement–when the overflowing scourge passes through, it will not come to us, for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter. Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not be ashamed or give way or hasten away [in sudden panic]. [Ps. 118:22; Matt. 21:42; Acts 4:11; Rom. 9:33; Eph. 2:20; I Pet. 2:4-6.] I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plummet; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the hiding place (the shelter). And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol (the place of the dead) shall not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through, then you will be trodden down by it. As often as it passes through, it [the enemy’s scourge] will take you; for morning by morning will it pass through, by day and by night. And it will be utter terror merely to hear and comprehend the report and the message of it [but only hard treatment and dispersion will make you understand God’s instruction]. For [they will find that] the bed is too short for a man to stretch himself on and the covering too narrow for him to wrap himself in. [All their sources of confidence will fail them.] For the Lord will rise up as on Mount Perazim, He will be wrathful as in the Valley of Gibeon, that He may do His work, His strange work, and bring to pass His act, His strange act. [II Sam. 5:20; I Chron. 14:16.] Now therefore do not be scoffers, lest the bands which bind you be made strong; for a decree of destruction have I heard from the Lord God of hosts upon the whole land and the whole earth.”

Isaiah‬ ‭28:14-22‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

I will cover you, and I will protect you with My canopy, but you will still feel gusts of wind. You will see the impact the storm is having. And you will have some triage, rescue and support work that comes up during the storm. The storm will rage, and the truth will find you here, hidden in the canopy of My love, favor, grace and provision — hidden in Me. The truth will rage all around outside of My canopy, My tent of protection and blessing. But truth will be delivered here as well. Truth will strike like lightning, and it will rage like flood waters. This storm is the destruction overflowing with righteousness. This storm will destroy and cleanse. It will rage until the fullness of explosive truth is vented. You will learn for years and years after the storm details that were released by the storm.

“A remnant will return [Shear-jashub, name of Isaiah’s son], a remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. For though your population, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of it will return [and survive]. The [fully completed] destruction is decreed (decided upon and brought to an issue); it overflows with justice and righteousness [the infliction of just punishment]. [Rom. 9:27, 28.] For the Lord, the Lord of hosts, will make a full end, whatever is determined or decreed [in Israel], in the midst of all the earth. Therefore thus says the Lord, the Lord of hosts, O My people who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian, who smites you with a rod and lifts up his staff against you, as [the king of] Egypt did. [Exod. 5.] For yet a little while and My indignation against you shall be accomplished, and My anger shall be directed to destruction [of the Assyrian]. And the Lord of hosts shall stir up and brandish a scourge against them as when He smote Midian at the rock of Oreb; and as His rod was over the [Red] Sea, so shall He lift it up as He did in [the flight from] Egypt. [Exod. 14:26-31; Judg. 7:24, 25.] And it shall be in that day that the burden of [the Assyrian] shall depart from your shoulders, and his yoke from your neck. The yoke shall be destroyed because of fatness [which prevents it from going around your neck]. [Deut. 32:15.] [But just when the Assyrian is in sight of his goal] behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, will lop off the beautiful boughs with terrorizing force; the high in stature will be hewn down and the lofty will be brought low. And He will cut down the thickets of the forest with an ax, and Lebanon [the Assyrian] with its majestic trees shall fall by the Mighty One and mightily. [Gen. 49:24; Isa. 9:6.]”

Isaiah‬ ‭10:21-27, 33-34‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The storm is upon us. It is approaching, and we are walking into it purposefully, equipped. I will provide you cover. I will shelter you from the storm and the effects of the torrent of truth and violence of truth being unleashed. But the truth will still be delivered to your tent, to the place you dwell in Me. The truth is what sets you free. It will set you free. This storm will set you free.

How to Respond

  • Live in quick and full obedience to the voice, instruction and promptings of the Lord. Anchor yourself firmly to Jesus.
  • Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for Your provision and covering. Thank You for Your presence and activity in our lives and world. If the storm is what brings us freedom, walk with us through it. Cover us as You have said. Give us instruction all the way. And help us to not wander out from underneath Your protective covering. Destroy everything that needs to be destroyed. Expose everything that needs exposure. Bring truth to every circumstance, heart and home.
  • Declare, the Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. He determines the times and seasons. He is the God who led the Israelites out of Egypt loaded down with plunder and riches from their oppressors, and He will lead us through this storm safely into freedom.
  • Decree, I will follow the voice and the leading of the Lord. I will remain safely under the covering of the Lord. I will not falter or waver when I see the torrent and lightning strikes of truth, or when I feel the strong gusts of wind caused by truth. I will stay firmly hidden in the Lord. I will praise Him for this mighty, unrelenting release of truth that sets us free. I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
  • Decree Psalm 91 over yourself and your family daily.
