Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 54
Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no child;
Isaiah 54:1-3
Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not travailed;
For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous
Than the sons of the married woman,” says the Lord.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tent;
Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not;
Lengthen your cords
And strengthen your pegs.
3 “For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left.
And your descendants will possess nations
And will resettle the desolate cities.
The Spirit of the Lord says,
Rest in Me. Be at ease in My Presence. Make Me home base. Make Me your place of comfort. I Am the Comforter. I Am the source of rest and wisdom. I Am the Prince of Peace. The birthing is coming, and the labor pains will feel hard. But you can choose to be at perfect peace in Me even in the midst of pain. This pain will lead to blessing. This pain will lead to greatness. This pain is birthing something brand new. This pain is birthing something I conceived in you.
You have felt the contractions for a while, the early birthing pains. But the pressure is ramping up; and the time of birthing is near. I Am birthing something in you, and I Am birthing something from you. So you have to participate. There’s no place or way for sideline watching. This requires your active and willing, your determined obedient participation.
4 “Fear not, for you will not be put to shame;
Isaiah 54:4-6
And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced;
But you will forget the shame of your youth,
And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.
5 “For your husband is your Maker,
Whose name is the Lord of hosts;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel,
Who is called the God of all the earth.
6 “For the Lord has called you,
Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,”
Says your God.
You have felt like a caterpillar increasingly confined against the walls of the cocoon that I have wrapped you in for growth and transformation. Your breaking out of there and flying is one part of the birthing. It is your birthing. It is your re-emerging. It is your entrance to freedom, to wide-open spacious living and to glorious daylight. Even as you emerge from the cocoon, new and transformed, you are pregnant with something I have planted deep inside of you.
What you are birthing brings freedom and inherently is free. What you are birthing will be a miracle. It will have skipped some of the typical difficult steps. It will leapfrog in unexpected ways over the typical processes and known order. What you are birthing will emerge in flight. It will never crawl or walk. It will be born flying. These are births of great grace. These are Divinely conceived, Divinely graced births for this time in history, for this generation. What you are birthing is born of freedom and will only ever know freedom.
11 “O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted,
Isaiah 54:11-14
Behold, I will set your stones in antimony,
And your foundations I will lay in sapphires.
12 “Moreover, I will make your battlements of rubies,
And your gates of crystal,
And your entire wall of precious stones.
13 “All your sons will be taught of the Lord;
And the well-being of your sons will be great.
14 “In righteousness you will be established;
You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear;
Walk faithfully through the two birthings. I Am calling you out of your protective shell. You have outgrown it. Very rapidly after your own emergence, your birthing of freedom, of glorious free flying little mini representations of freedom will be required. It will be glorious. It will be breathtaking and astonishing to yourself and to all who witness it.
How to Respond
- Surrender your circumstances and expectations to the Lord. Make Him your source of rest, comfort and peace.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come and comfort me. Come and be my resting place, my home base, my source of peace. Help me to hear Your voice and not hesitate or disobey in this critical season of birthing. Help me to break out, step out, move out and emerge at Your Word. Help me to faithfully bring forth that which You have planted and hidden inside of me. I want to be a part of what You are doing in this birthing season. I want to be a vessel for freedom and an example of Your grace.
- Declare, this is the birthing season. The Lord is calling many out to emerge from their hidden places into freedom. He is calling forth the birthing of ideas, seeds, dreams inventions and many other things that He has planted in the hearts of His people.
- Decree, I will emerge into freedom as the Lord calls. I will walk in quick obedience in this time. I will make the Lord my resting place, my home base, my Comforter and my source of peace. I will be obedient to bring forth what He has planted in my heart for the benefit and freedom of this generation.
