1 Kings 17
Psalm 16
17 Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.” 2 The word of the Lord came to him, saying,3 “Go away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. 4 It shall be that you will drink of the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to provide for you there.” 5 So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and lived by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. 6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he would drink from the brook.

The Spirit of the Lord says,
Choices. Life altering choices are up ahead, just ahead. I Am calling you to stay right where I have planted you until I call you forward, until I call you to move. Then I will bid you to cross the Bridge of Understanding, and you will see more clearly what it was all for and where I Am taking you now as a result of all that has been learned, done, tested and gained here. Like Elijah at the brook during the drought, the water is drying up for you in the place I have planted you; and you will soon be called upon and activated to move to a different situation with a different kind of provision.
7 It happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land. 8 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying,9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there; behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.”
1 Kings 17:7-9
The scene is changing. Some of the people are changing places. New people will come in, and ones I have moved or called elsewhere will go another way. This is a time of great and significant shifting for many. What seemed like the way to do things will no longer make sense, will no longer fit the purpose or situation. You will need to shift into new ways of doing things, of thinking, of operating that are fit for purpose, fit for circumstance and fit to your new and unique calling. I Am moving people into positions, places and situations that don’t have a template, that require carving brand new paths and defining rightful order.
I Am calling people and giving people the opportunity to carve out and define an entirely new way of living. It is an invitation and an necessity. The old ways, the former ways, the familiar ways won’t work in this new place of new provision, new people and new positions. You get to reinvent yourself here. The essentials will remain the same, but your shoulders can be lighter if you choose. Your eyes can twinkle brighter if you choose. Your laugh can be more ready and willing if you choose. Your arms can be spread wider — quicker to hug, hold and join — if you choose.
5 The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
Psalm 16:5-6
You support my lot.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.
This new place, position and scene I Am calling you and moving you into is wide open. It is a glimmer and an aspect of the wide-open spacious life you have longed for. Though it is not the fullest manifestation you will see of it, it is a step and a significant move in the direction of that glorious wide-open spacious life I have carved into your heart’s desires. This is a new trying ground, a new testing ground for you to explore freedom, for you to explore the undefined, unprescribed living that I enjoy building with you.
11 You will make known to me the path of life;
Psalm 16:11
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
I Am now or I will soon be calling you up from the brook of provision and blessing that had a particular kind of scenery and nurturing and surroundings. I Am calling you into a new scene, a new situation and a new opportunity to do life in an adventurous way, in a wild-hearted open way, in a fun-forward way, in an inventive way with Me. Walk forward with all joy when I call you. Your choice to live in joy and walk in joy and build with joy is just ahead.
How to Respond
- Get your ear close to the the Lord’s heart. Start tying up loose ends in the places that you feel He may be calling you to move on from soon.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Come and bring Your Presence. Come and and commune with me, speak to me, show me what next steps look like. Come and show me where I need to be ready to move on to the next thing. Show me any last preparations I need to make to be ready to move on from here. Show me how to leave this situation with grace and honor. Come.
- Declare, the Lord is calling people to move to a new situation, to a new place and kind of provision, to a new opportunity to do life completely differently. The Lord is calling people to move and is giving the opportunity for reinvention in this new season, new place and new situation. He is giving people a glimpse and a taste of His wide-open spacious life.
- Decree, I will remain planted until the Lord says move. I will move when the Lord says move. I will walk forward with all joy, and I will embrace the new. I will take the opportunity to be different and live differently in this new situation — to be more like my Father in Heaven, to be more ready to love big, have fun, think big and operate from a posture of creativity and adventure. I will make a purposeful choice to keep the essentials of me but to be different, better, lighter and more joyful in the place where the Lord calls me to go.
