23 So watch yourselves, that you do not forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which the Lord your God has commanded you. 24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 4:23-24
The Lord says,
I Am an all consuming fire. My heart burns with desire for you. You are My heart’s desire, the one My heart longs for. I long for My people, and I Am an all consuming fire. I Am jealous for your heart, your present and your future. My jealousy extends to your past. I long to scorch the injuries, sins, mistakes and hurts of your past with the purifying fire of My Presence. I Am jealous to consume all from your past that did not serve you and did not serve Me. My desire is great and unquenchable. I Am a jealous God, and My name is Jealous. My love is an all consuming fire, and I desire to pour it out as healing oil in all of the places that have been wounded, hurt and broken. My desire for My people is great, and My desire cannot be quenched.
35 To you it was shown that you might know that the Lord, He is God; there is no other besides Him. 36 Out of the heavens He let you hear His voice to discipline you; and on earth He let you see His great fire, and you heard His words from the midst of the fire. 37 Because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them. And He personally brought you from Egypt by His great power, 38 driving out from before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in and to give you their land for an inheritance, as it is today. 39 Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.
Deuteronomy 4:35-39
My love is an all consuming fire. My purity, My holiness is an all consuming fire. This is the fire that lights My altar. It is the purity, the holiness that purifies lips, hearts and minds. The fire of My holiness and purity is an all consuming fire. My jealousy will rage and will rise up as a force of nature, as a jealous husband, as a protective lioness for her cubs. My jealousy will rise up in wrath. In vengeance I will clothe Myself, because I Am jealous for My people with the burning of an all consuming fire.
My wrath, My all consuming fire will suddenly be thrust upon My adversaries, the adversaries of My people. My all consuming fire of jealousy, of love and holiness will rain down in a scorched earth assault against those whose work and delight is to destroy My little ones, destroy lives, corrupt minds and hearts and defile bodies. My all consuming fire will rain down on them as fire from Heaven, and they will have no escape. The fire of My jealousy, My love, My holiness will allow it no longer. The bowls of My wrath have filled, and now they will spill over as an all consuming fire.
Isaiah 33:10-17
10 “Now I will arise,” says the Lord,
“Now I will be exalted, now I will be lifted up.
11 “You have conceived chaff, you will give birth to stubble;
My breath will consume you like a fire.
12 “The peoples will be burned to lime,
Like cut thorns which are burned in the fire.
13 “You who are far away, hear what I have done;
And you who are near, acknowledge My might.”
14 Sinners in Zion are terrified;
Trembling has seized the godless.
“Who among us can live with the consuming fire?
Who among us can live with continual burning?”
15 He who walks righteously and speaks with sincerity,
He who rejects unjust gain
And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe;
He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed
And shuts his eyes from looking upon evil;
16 He will dwell on the heights,
His refuge will be the impregnable rock;
His bread will be given him,
His water will be sure.
17 Your eyes will see the King in His beauty;
They will behold a far-distant land.
The time of the harvest, the fullness, the completeness of My jealousy will be seen and felt throughout the earth. It will not be mistaken. It will be known that the Lord God Most High, who is a jealous God, who is an all consuming fire, has rained down His wrath upon the wicked, upon the vile, upon the gleeful idolaters and the ones happy and eager to destroy the lives of many, the minds of many, the identities and purposes of many. My jealousy and My wrath will go unchecked, unhindered. What man will check me? The fire of My jealousy, My wrath will know no borders, no boundaries and will have no respect for title or station. I Am an all consuming fire.
How to Respond
- Choose and cling to the Lord.
- Delight yourself in the Lord — in His Presence, His love and His burning passion for you.
- Pray, Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Purify me as with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
- Declare, My God is an all consuming fire. His love, His jealousy and His holiness knows no bounds. The Lord will not stand for the continued reign of wickedness and evil. He will not stand for the oppression and the destruction of the people at the hands of evildoers and idolatrous ones any longer.
- Decree,
Those who stand with evil, promote evil and have left no room in their hearts for the light of the Lord will face the jealousy of the Lord for His people.
We will see the consuming jealousy of the Lord and His wrath poured out on those who have sought to steal from, kill and destroy the people.
