Today’s Readings:
Isaiah 57
Hebrews 12

14 And it will be said,
“Build up, build up, prepare the way,
Remove every obstacle out of the way of My people.”
15 For thus says the high and exalted One
Who lives forever, whose name is Holy,
“I dwell on a high and holy place,
And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit
In order to revive the spirit of the lowly
And to revive the heart of the contrite.

Isaiah 57:14-15

The Lord says,
Delight yourself in Me. Fill your heart with hope. Cast your gaze out on the horizon and believe. Change is coming. Better days are coming. Victories are coming. Giant leaps are coming. Cast your cares and your burdens on Me, so you can be ready to run. The days ahead are jam-packed with change, twists, and turns. Where your terrain has been rocky and crumbling on this road until now, the road ahead will be cleared. I have said, move every obstacle out of the way of my people. Raise up, raise up the waste places. I Am setting your feet on solid ground so you can run.

You won’t be able to see around corners, and the foliage that surrounds you will make it difficult to see very far. But your path will be clear, and you will have the visibility you need to run the stretch you are on. You will keep having the grace, the light, the endurance to run the stretch you are on. Don’t worry about the next. The same will be true there. It will continue to be true. I will sustain you.

But he who takes refuge in Me will inherit the land
And will possess My holy mountain.”

Isaiah 57:13b

Trust Me. Trust Me with the path. Trust Me with the race. Trust Me to provide and sustain you in these new days. Let fear give way to joy. Let joy rise. Let My joy be your strength for the race ahead. Let yourself celebrate victories along the way. This is an acceptable act of worship and an appropriate memorial for you. Determine to create benchmark celebrations. Don’t pass too quickly from one leg of this race to the next. Take some moments to skip like a calf released from the stall. Take some moments for rejoicing with friends, family and neighbors. Eat cake. Dance, and then get back out there on the race course.

12 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3
For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12:1-3

This is the path to the glorious city, to the beautiful inhabited land. This race courses through the jungle of justice, and it will lead to the promised beautiful land, to the inhabited city of My favor. Keep your eyes on Me. Keep your gaze set on the race before you. All of this running, all of this ground you are gaining, it’s for the future. It’s for the sake of justice, truth and honor. It’s for your family, your children and your children’s children. It’s for your community, your nation and the world.

Run the race I have set before you. The stakes are high, but you are equipped, and you have trained for victory. You will recognize as you break through that these days of running brought you through much overcoming. They will be marked by overcoming, by victory and by My grace — through every leg of the race.

How to Respond

  • Determine to trust the Lord.
  • Choose to build yourself up in the joy of the Lord and to strengthen yourself with His Presence and His Word.
  • Pray, Lord, the road ahead is not easy to see, and the distance You are asking me to travel seems daunting. Help me to not get overwhelmed. Help me to keep my eyes on You and step by step, day by day run the race You have set before me.
  • Declare, the Lord is bringing us into days of many victories, of overcoming, of breakthrough and justice.
  • Decree,
I will not back down or be intimidated by the race set before me.
I will keep my eyes on the Lord and the stretch that I can see in front of me.
    I will run faithfully.
I will experience breakthroughs, victories, and I will overcome.
I will take time to celebrate the victories that the Lord has brought.
I will make it to the other side — to the beautiful land, to the inhabited city of promise that the Lord has prepared. It is just beyond this race course through the jungle of justice.
